Mentioned many times; depending what cards you use and buy from which. Can range 9XX - 10XX. =:p

Does a pixel 5 phone despite 5G but with a mid range SD765G CPU and its pure Android experience worth the price of $9xx to $1xxx for our local market if it really sell officially (let’s not discuss about contract with a plan) that the question when there is other high spec android selling cheaper. Will consumer willing to foot the bill? :D

very subjective on how you see this as each of us will always have different view on what is worth while... so is iphone worth the 2k price tag then.. the A14 bonic, extra telephoto lens and iOS experience.

Personally I find it v hard to justify for a midrange chipset after knowing its about 1k. That's like paying for premium seat price but getting economy seat - isn't it?

Ofc diff users diff expectations. Last year's flagship and this year got simi difference? Nothing. Like pixel 4 to 5, samsung s10 to s20... Only a newer gen chip

Maybe its just me that I won't pay >$800 for a phone now. How shocking when a midrange spec phone is 1k, then may as well get ipone fastest bionic chip in the world :s22: ipone has no competitor, they can set high prices and their camera/video is equally good with excellent sales and 24/7 technical support

Just speaking objectively

If my current pixel 4xl spoil, I will consider getting pixel 5.
Just can't find any incentive going over to Pixel 5 from 4xl.

My 2 cents worth.

like i say each have our own preferences in requirements. if just focus on price comparison so far only S20fe comes close to pixel price range with a better 865 chipset. Features and software preference eg. camera hw/software, fast updates, UI etc yet is another consideration.
I have fruit phone as my work device as well, true that bonic and camera/vid is good but in terms of skin saturation i feel is more instag friendly.. not to mention I totally hate simple function such as transfer a pic/vid to my work laptop need to go through such a hassle compared to an Android device. :s22:

Initially I thought s20fe is a good catch until users reported touchscreen issues if you go Samsung thread to see. Abt 1k but at least using flagship chipset which I feel is not shortchanged as compare to pixel using midrange chipset then price as flagship price (really hard to break my mental model). However can't recommend s20fe solely bc of a lottery draw to get a ghost touchscreen phone

Your office want use iphone then cannot complain on transferring files between laptop as this is a well known issue since day 1. But at least u can make a decision for your own phone; I'm assuming you have 1 work phone and 1 personal phone

For me, I'm leaning more into android. It's complicated  however objectively speaking, iPhone offers a lot more if I were to pay the same $1k for it in terms of specs, quality, service, software support, security and branding etc...

This is also a very subjective topic. Firstly there is only 1 Apple in this world but a million of Android OEMs with different hardware spec, software experience due to varies Android skin and different price range so what make you Pixel 5 stand out among all the other Android phones is up to Google to decide and market to the consumers and whether they will foot the bill for a mid-range phone at a flagship price.

I do agree that Apple is stupidly expensive but they can offer to do so and people will still queue to buy it if not why are they a trillion dollars company. If you’re inside Apple ecosystem, you don’t have a choice. The after sales support Apple give, the whole ecosystem that Apple provide is just another level that is very much unmatch in today’s world that not a single Android OEMs manage to copy this set of business model over yet.

If u use windows labtop, then iphone dont suit u

Mac has airdrop, in fact it is even simpler to transfer files even without a need to connect a cable. Apple's motive is to keep u hooked in the ecosystem and buy more of their products
