Was hoping pixel 5 would be cheaper because I prefer the smaller form factor. Looks like it's 4a 5g for me then until pixel 5 is discounted.

Hello guys, actually what's the difference for Pixel 5 over Pixel 4XL?

Seems like I do not need to make the change over to 5...

so meanwhile everyone is shifting their attention back to fe
:s13:
They shoot themselves in the foot by releasing it with $699 price tag. I think this phone will be DOA.

It would make sense if they price it at $549 instead of $699

Pixel 4a 5g is $499, pixel 5 is $699.
The $200 price difference is totally not justifiable.

Plus got oneplus 8t and 20fe to compete which is using flagship cpu.

Why would anyone still consider OnePlus as a viable phone after the whole FB installer debacle?

There is no 5 XL right because I don't see it on the Google store. Only got Pixel 5? This is very disappointing. Neural core also gone, nobody cares about Solis so good riddance.

I find soli good though. Very sad google experimented it on p4 but does not seem to be developing it any further :( :s22:

The thing is u can't. It's not the FB app itself but another system app which is always working in the background. See the YT vid from SomeOrdinaryGamer.

Maybe I might get this as a phone for collection, like my Hot Toys. Most likely going back iPhone also

P5 US sets has mmWave. International sets no mmWave
Look at the techspecs.

I suspect that the reason it is shipping in the US much later compared to other countries. it is also probably why non-US P5 are marginally cheaper as seen from taiwan and japan sets.

P4a5G all no mmWave except for Verizon units. so no diff where u buy from

personally will most likely skip this year's pixel unless it is available locally. my P3 will have to last me another year. iP12 here i come.

that's ****ed thup.. but then again, if people are truly concerned about their privacy, they should not even go on android ecosystem. :s13:

for $699, people will like go for the S20FE for the higher specs.

I agree. S20FE will also get 3 years Android updates... plus we all know Samsung will discount the FE later.

I feel that the Pixel 5 was priced to not sell.

The thing is, at least on Android, we can stop the individual apps from 'sqwarking' back to their servers. On iOS, we can't.

The only win I see on iOS is all apps can only work in their respective sandbox environment, so one app can't mine info from another app.

that's ****ed thup.. but then again, if people are truly concerned about their privacy, they should not even go on android ecosystem.

i feel that they are doing this for the sake of having a pixel P5 in 2020. their launch presentation was SHORT and BRIEF.

but... samsung UI i cannot accept :(
got S10 lite some time back and forced myself to use for a month.. but cannot leh. end up giving the phone to my helper.

Having used Samsung on and off since Galaxy S2, I can say One UI is one of the better 3rd party skins now. Particularly their UI design where they move touch elements to the bottom half of the screen for easier one hand usage in a sea of large phones. It's has even pushed OnePlus to follow suit.

@699, S20 FE is a no brainer. However if Pixel 5 were to get a discounted to $549, then it would become more compelling. Right now, 4a 5G is the better buy.
