Any hopes of SG in the wave 2 release?

According to the HWZ SG article, there is a second wave launch to another batch of countries at Nov. 2020, but any idea they are referring to SG?

Just saw the Google launch video, towards the end, it shows Pixel 4a 5G launches in 8 other countries in Nov. 2020, but the Pixel 5 didn't have the '8 other countries in Nov. 2020" line, oh well, fingers crossed.

Very free on friday afternoon.. so do some digging.. where/who is HWZ's source that said there will be a second wave of launch countries? Humm.. maybe a little birdie told the person that wrote the article.

Pixel 5 is available in 9 countries now with USA getting it last on 29oct due to mmWave variant. P4a5G is available now only in Japan with the 8 others getting it only in nov.

I cannot find a single piece of information on the "2nd" wave ANYWHERE! except from the HWZ article and it doesn't even state a source for that info.

My logic is that Google has announce way in advance P4a5G will only be available in those countries only in nov. Does it make sense to announce a 2nd wav of countries in nov? Maybe Google's product marketing is really that screw up... lol

So really... HWZ jun bo?

PS: side note.. me questioning about validity/quality of HWZ article on their forum.. LOL.... please don't throw me off the building

If order from Google Taiwan, how much is the total cost including shipping (ezship) , gst and cc conversion/charges etc? The price is TWD18990 though. Twd/sgd has been creeping up alot over the past one year =(

But a lot more ex also. But I guess the peace of mind is important. Plus Clove order probably will receive by 20th.TW ships out 20-21st only.

long time never heard of that name alreadi... still remember last time (make that very long time ago) they had a tie up with amex cards..

google's hardware logistics really jialiat. make it so difficult for people to buy.. then complain hardware business is hard.. champion

Also, the article got state the source lah - from YT and The Verge - "The Pixel 5 will be available first in eight countries on October 15th, then on October 29th in the US through Verizon, Google Fi, and unlocked from Google’s online store for $699. Preorders are available now. AT&T will also be offering the Pixel 5 later this fall, although it has yet to announce a price or specific release date.

Correction: Google’s early information during its live event was vague as to which countries will get what devices on what dates. We have updated this post to reflect Google’s latest, more accurate information on release dates."

I mean this is what they have written lah, a bit misleading. "2nd wave" could be subjected to individual's interpretation but phones launching in November is accurate bah.

agree.. given that this is a SPH holding subsidiary... I hold them to a higher standard.

To me.. all the countries which P5 and P4a5G will be sold has already been announced but with different availability timings. There is no information that Google plans to add to this list. There is no information on a 2nd wave of new unannounced countries. I will loved to be proof wrong. But that article is plain misleading on that point.

Was looking at IMDA listing, realised from Google Pixel 3a/4 series with their Nest series was by distributor named - Wideminds Pte Ltd instead of Google SG.

Perhaps a reason why Google Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 not release here.

i believe wideminds provide outsource logistics and maybe imda certification and compliance.. they are not the decision maker. more like google ask them to do then they do.

it all goes down to google don't value Singapore market when it comes to hardware.. cos really too small .. we small red dot
