There are rumours of sd slot returning but nothing is confirmed. 3.5mm could be returning also but most people uses a tws eitherway
hopefully the poor s22 sales will lead them to reimplementing the microsd card and the 3.5mm jack. both of which were included in the s10+ which to me was samsung's best phone to date. i still use it btw

most people use tws but nothing beats the convenience of a 3.5mm jack

Wow like that s22 series may be a better phone since got microsd slot and 3.5mm jack :o

These microsd not say deal breakers (to me as now can't travel) but I feel they keep pushing for 8k or 4k recording and yet storage limited to 256 or 512 a bit funny right lol

But samsung ui is heavy and clutter imo. Wish they trim down until no more double mailbox, browser etc

am considering cancelling my pixel 5a purchase and just getting the S20 FE, seems like the better choice since it's on a discount at $732.

don't buy s20fe, last year quite a number of people complained got v jialat touch screen issues like you use 2 or more fingers to touch it will skip or got ghost touch (can't rmb which is it)

apparently samsung use an inferior capacitive touchscreen hardware for that s20fe to save cost

not to discourage you, but thought might be good to let you know in advance in case regret like some of them

s21fe should be coming soon (idk how soon la lol) if you're interested in fan edition

Oh wow, but it seems like the s20 FE had overwhelming reviews online, so I didn't think it was that bad. Thanks for letting me know, will check it out!

UPDATE: 2021/08/19 8:36AM PDT BY RYNE HAGER

Confirmed in testing

I'M AWAKE.

We did some back-to-back testing with our Pixel 5a and a handful of other devices, and we did observe troublingly short 4K 60fps recording on the phone compared to other devices. Notably, the Pixel 5 seems to have the same (if not worse) issue:

  • Pixel 5a: 5:05 (Before it cut out with a heat warning.)
  • Pixel 5: 1:31 (Before it cut out with a heat warning.)
  • Pixel 4 40:00 (Before I got bored — though note it only supports 4K 30, not 4K 60. Felt it might be a useful point of comparison in-family anyway.)
  • Galaxy S21 45:00 (Before I got bored.)
  • OnePlus 9 Pro: 5:00 (Before it stopped with no warning — seems to be a software limit for 4K 60 recordings.)
All tests were done at 73 degrees ambient with a few minutes to cool after booting, if the devices were not already powered on prior to testing. Still shoddy science, but good enough for some ballpark indicators.

We'll see what Google says about the problem or if it can be addressed with a later update. But given the Pixel 5 has a similar issue in our testing, Google's at least consistent.

np but think not every set has the ghost touchscreen issue, the s20fe thread got people say machiam go gambling to see if you're unlucky to get that and the software updates didn't solve it completely

worst thing of all, the service ctr cannot help much and they're stuck with the prob

i feel it is better to put your money on a phone that has less qc issue as screen is a very imptt factor (to me)

seems like midrange chipsets have hardware limitation and can't do heavy recording. machiam like my laptop cannot open too big video editing file or else will crash and shut down lol

interestingly, why a flagship op9pro stopped at 5min recording. if is me surely v annoyed
