np but think not every set has the ghost touchscreen issue, the s20fe thread got people say machiam go gambling to see if you're unlucky to get that and the software updates didn't solve it completely

worst thing of all, the service ctr cannot help much and they're stuck with the prob

i feel it is better to put your money on a phone that has less qc issue as screen is a very imptt factor (to me)

seems like midrange chipsets have hardware limitation and can't do heavy recording. machiam like my laptop cannot open too big video editing file or else will crash and shut down lol

interestingly, why a flagship op9pro stopped at 5min recording. if is me surely v annoyed
Actually sd888 has been known run hotter than last year SoC like 865, 860 and 870. Still, 5 mins is an awfully short recording time for a flagship.

won't be as hot as exynos soc coz my current sd855 play game for long also won't heat up much really :o

ya 5mins really too short for a flagship video recording and op phones are v expensive these days

hopefully pixel 6 won't generate so much heat as it is using a modified version of exynos

Google: Pixels are not meeting our sales expectations

Also Google: Launches Pixels in iPhone-dominated markets, instead of developing markets where people can't afford iPhones and willing to pay for mid-ranged Pixels

don't buy s20fe, last year quite a number of people complained got v jialat touch screen issues like you use 2 or more fingers to touch it will skip or got ghost touch (can't rmb which is it)

apparently samsung use an inferior capacitive touchscreen hardware for that s20fe to save cost

not to discourage you, but thought might be good to let you know in advance in case regret like some of them

s21fe should be coming soon (idk how soon la lol) if you're interested in fan edition
It also depends on your luck.

My S20FE was the later 2021 batch. Did not have an issue with ghost touch even with the last update.

But I would agree and maybe hold back buying the S20FE now as it's almost one year old though and S21FE is not far off, hopefully.

Thinking of it, google should at least use a 90Hz refresh OLED panel, the overall experience would be better. Pixel 5a not sure by removing the laser auto focus will affect camera quality or not.

A tough fight with Samsung A52 5G and the upgraded A52s 5G

Was it a laser auto focus ?
It's listed as a Spectral + flicker sensor on Google tech specs.
Apparently it's supposed to help with flickering lights or screens when using the camera.

i think I'll just wait and observe to see what others are saying when they receive their pre-orders, then make my decision from there haha.

Glad to hear yours no issue :o

Ya I think s21fe should be out before Dec since samsung will surely want to grab some market share fr pixel and iphone lol

Didn't know the laser auto focus is so important. Like that isn't pixel sabotaging their sales since they're already not selling well :s22:

It’s not just hardware that Google seems to be adding, and then removing. They do this for their software too and that’s why some Pixel users feel like they are Beta users. Introduce features and then remove them abruptly. Create new apps, and then deprecating them without any communication.

But having said that, I’ll still take Pixel over any other Android phones. Just cannot stand other OEM’s skins and bloat.

Saw the overheating issue. Is it happening only when recording 4K video at 60fps?

I feel google never test internally and research users before launch, or a very rush product to sell as a marketing gimmick. Google add sth and remove thereafter bc they realized users feedback not well-received -> points back to them never do detailed research prior. Soli discontinued due to over-promise under-delivered capability so poor take up rate haha; better remove then maybe if improve better nx time can add again which i doubt so

We know google likes experimenting with new stuff and that's good as own research data, but looks bad to sell to real buyers as guinea pigs.

Price is always a factor in any products.
Eg. pixel 5 ~USD$700 for an inferior midrange soc, those people who bought this will feel so stupid now. The perceived value of pixel 5 just doesn't bode well (with me)

The price and perceived value must match so people feel good buying again imo :o
