Sources close to Nikkei Asia suggests that the Google Tensor chipset will be built using a 5nm fabrication process, which is the same as the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile chipset and Samsung’s own Exynos 1080/2100 chips.

Google did not disclose who will manufacture the Tensor chip for Pixel, but sources familiar with the matter told Nikkei Asia that Samsung handle production using its advanced 5-nanometer process technology.

“Thirst Quencher” features a glass of lemonade with a straw, the tip of which is placed exactly where the selfie camera would go. Keeping in theme with the fruit and produce, Cherry Cone features a soft-serve ice cream cone, topped with a cherry.

Leaving the produce aisle behind, there are a number of person-centric wallpapers, such as “Street Art,” which shows someone listening to music while spray painting a wall mural. Meanwhile, “Karaoke” features a woman singing and holding a microphone in the perfect spot to fit under the camera.

As each wallpaper is designed to accommodate the camera’s hole punch and not move when scrolling left or right, each of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro wallpapers appear to be precisely the size of the phone’s display. From this, we can gather the exact resolution of both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The Pixel 6 should weigh in with a resolution of 1080×2400, which is about 60 pixels taller than the Pixel 5. Meanwhile, the Pixel 6 Pro should have a resolution of 1440×3120, about 80 pixels taller than the Pixel 4 XL.

Rick Osterloh, SVP Devices & Services at Google, briefly talked about pricing and market segments in an interview with German magazine "Der Spiegel".

Deepl translation:

SPIEGEL: Google has been selling its own smartphones since 2010. Are the new devices an attempt to gain market share in the premium segment?
Osterloh: We haven't been in the flagship smartphone segment for the past two years - and before that, not really. But the Pixel 6 Pro, which will be expensive, was designed specifically for users who want the latest technology. That's an important, new approach for us, and we believe it will help us be attractive in new market segments. But the Pixel 6 also belongs to the upper segment and can keep up with competing products. I would describe it as a "mainstream premium product".

If costs 1.6k and software updates help to maintain tip top conditions for 5 years, 1 year only 320, cheap cheap.

Pixel 5G models will never works till it's official sold in Singapore. Isn't this being mentioned since P5 launch till now.
Interesting, didn't know 5g can't work if we import from overseas

Not sure how 5g works, like that means the phone is set as per region? 🤔

Very sad if pixel 6 is 1.5k and worse if they don't even come here like pixel 5 :(

For Pixel, i think the 5G locked by Google. then again, local telco need to approve it.

I've Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5G both in UK and US version. Nah, 5G not working here.

I actually prefer it because of the small size and would have also bought 3a earlier if it had 128gb variant.
