@limmk what $100 voucher is this ah? so based on ur opinion, both 128gb, is the Pixel 8 more value or Pixel8a for the price difference?

128gb vs 256gb, is the extra 12gb worth the price difference for 8a?
1. I cannot recall what the voucher is about. now it is back to $60
2. The Pixel 8 offers more advanced features and better performance, making it worth it if those features are important to you
3. The extra storage is beneficial if you have significant storage needs. otherwise, the 128gb model provides ample space for typical use

Thank you for taking the time to reply and post those YT videos. Probably go with 128gb as your advice.

This 'Google Authorised Reseller' is by Google themselves with 1 yr local warranty ah? how come they don't call themselves 'Google Official' lol

Is the earlier 568 considered a good price? since google always got promo etc

You're welcome! i'm glad i could help with the community. yes, they are an official partner of Google, which essentially means they have Google's endorsement to sell their products

Regarding the price of $568, it seems reasonable now. however, Google often runs promotions, so you might want to keep an eye out for any upcoming deals or discounts that could make the price even more attractive

Another member here bought his Pixel 8a JP set for $516.99 (after vouchers and coins)

noted, i'll keep a lookout if the 100 voucher comes back later.
btw, does 'JP set' means its Japan set? Didn't know Shoppee sells it and will the warranty still be covered by Google Singapore?

Check your current phone usage. If you are already getting close to maxing out 128gb right now, then better consider 256gb.

"JP set" indeed refers to the Japan set. however, please be aware that products purchased as a "JP set" are not covered under Google Singapore's warranty. it's always a good idea to check the warranty terms provided by the seller, usually 6/12 months warranty

To add to xonix's comment
  • If you store a lot of media files (photos, videos, music) or large apps/games, the extra 128GB can be worth the investment for convenience and peace of mind
  • If you primarily use cloud storage or don't have extensive storage needs, the 128GB version should suffice

@xonix @limmk Thanks for the valuable pointers again. My current usage is ard 90gb but i thought the price difference of $100 can be used to purchase 30mth subscription of Google One(100Gb) instead

excited to join the Pixel club for the first time haha

From the Pixel 1 to the 3, I am back to the 8a!
Wow, that's awesome! how are you finding the 8a compared to the earlier models? are there any standout features you're loving? also, i'm curious why you left in the first place?

I have always liked the Pixel line up and the performance of android is always hard to beat.
I haven really got to use it much yet but what impressed me was how fast the Face unlock was (as good as Face ID and much faster responding than the time it takes for one to reach for the fingerprint reader under good lighting conditions)

I didn’t leave the Android ecosystem but I did leave for other devices — an odd one I was using till recently was a Samsung Xcover Pro.

Up to last year, I was still using the Pixel 3 as my secondary phone for overseas travels. The pictures captured on the device is still impressive in my opinion. That said, it’s a pity that Google stopped software support for the Pixel 3.
