was considering to change to this phone (pixel 8a)
current phone (samsung galaxy s22) has a purple line, used pixel 4a before changing to s22, do u guys think its worth to change to 8A? dont know how well google chips compare to snapdragon

its around my budget too and after my s22 "flagship" has the purple line, im kinda disappointed with samsung. yeah its not the ultra version but for a base flagship model I had higher expectations coming from a budget pixel 4a which lasted me q long

honestly after reading this thread, im considering to get even the pixel6a or 7a, seems like 8a kinda overpriced(?) 6a and 7a seems pretty good for their price in shopee/lazada

How long do you plan to hang on to the phone ? Only the 8 series will get the longer software support.

minimally 2 years, seeing the price on shopee pixel 7a is available for 450~ish altho JP version.

Not planning to get any flagships as I dont see the point, I dont play any games and mainly use phone for browsing, bank, reading forums, youtube videos.

For 2 yrs, you can consider either p7 or p7a , should be sufficient horsepower for your usage. Just take note JP version cannot disable camera shutter sound, in case that bothers you.

as a old guy i find 7a small for me

not really a fan of big phones myself, the biggest I've used was my current 6.1" s22 base version.
main reason is cause i dont like having a huge bulk in my pocket - know that we went from nokias (small and compact) to iphone 4s to bigger and bigger phones

7A JP version is useful if you travel there often. Has the Felica function for adding mobile Suica and Pasmo.

dont really travel but JP ver cheaper than US ver. just the camera shutter sound unable to off which doesnt matter to me

as i dont take much pics, even if i do friends/family around me have the latest flagship (mostly iphone 15 pro max, 1 1 or 2 S24 ultra, etc)
