Went back and fro with a generic AI agent which just repeats for me to resubmit my order when there is no longer such an option (no more stock)

Terrible experience, think I'll sit out on this already

Charged once during order

mine.

the initial charge i placed when ordering is still "pending" so its not "charged". if its not charged within a week of ordering, the "pending" charge will be cancelled and the credit restored

yes, when checking out they will only allow you to use a card that is saved on your Google pay account

I had to upload a picture of my bank card and NRIC. I was also led to a process to do an authorisation and provide a code that was within the bank authorisation.
That solved my Google Pay related problem but still my order was cancelled.


I ordered on 23 Aug

Just did and was connected to an offshore India call center.
Was on the line for 15 minutes (mostly waiting as the CSO had to check details) but was basically told the same thing
CSO just repeatedly apologised and said that there was nothing I could do but make a new order (256 no longer in stock so I need to order the 512) and hope that it gets delivered before Oct (which should have been 4 Sept for me)

Terrible all round experience

I guess the only good takeaway is your next google store order on the same card would not be declined in this way.

Was it a new card? I can't think of any scenario where they would decline a card like that.
