Could be a malfunctioning app too. Use the battery app to see where the drain is from... Last time I had issue with an app. Needed to delete and reinstall to correct it

Finally managed to backup my dslr photos via pixel .

Previously got error until someone mentioned to delete software updates for Google photos

Low probability.

nvm.. intend to get the pixel 3xl next month.... then keep this xl for uploading cloud storage of full size photos lol

Upgrading after 2 years is a reasonable cycle.

Personally, I intend to use my Pixel 2 for another year.

My 6P is still working good though.

Sometimes, you need lucky hands for the phones to last more than 1 year.

My 5X died on the 1st year of anniversary.

Anyone knows roughly how much it costs to fix a broken Pixel screen? My screen shattered after something heavy fell on it. Dead screen, no image, but rest of the phone still works (connected to the PC using screen mirroring to use everything). The touch also works, so I think it's only the screen that broke.

lol it's time for you to change phone. Pixel 3 just release.

If I were you, I will not repair. There may be some other problems after changing screen.

Yup Pixel 3 is great, but if it's not too expensive to fix the screen, I'd like to continue using it until next year when it stops getting OS updates.

When the repairman opens up your phone to repair, there may be some damage done unknowingly to the other parts of the phone. ie loose connection, etc

Of course there is a short after sales warranty but the problem may surface after that.

Well this is just a risk that you need to take into account.

Thanks for the warning. Anyway, for those wondering, breakfixnow quoted me $140, while The Repair Hospital quoted me $164. Neither has stock for the replacement screen though, and will have to be ordered..

I'll go with whichever shop wanna bothers listening and attempting to fix. Some places can't have that extra few seconds to listen to you before suggesting that you get new phone instead.

I feel anything less than $150 is ok, just to tahan till maybe next half of 2019.

See how under screen fingerprint/camera develops ie Samsung. Perhaps a chance to catch what Pixel 4 (Android Q) will be like.

Unlimited storage in full resolution still sweet offer on pixel OG. Still will have Android P to play with.

All else fails, spare camera.

Maybe because the profit margin is too small and job is not worth taking.

I won't go to any shops to repair. Some may not be experienced enough.
