copy iPhone design, no waterproof

Please, don't start on this copying iphone stuff non-sense. Try to design one, and see if there are others saying it looks like any other phones. How about saying fruit copied HTC design to begin with?

Agreed with this

To the phones themselves: the design is what it is. Some people love it, many loathe it, and I find myself largely apathetic on the issue. They look... like phones. There really isn't much about them that is terribly distinct or interesting as physical objects. They're inoffensive and, honestly, pretty bland. The big design flourish - Google's glass "window" on the back - feels more than a bit forced. But it's also not what I'd call definitively unattractive. It's just sort of there. As for all the talk of the subtle tapering of the device thickness toward the bottom? I can't even notice it. My guess remains that the phone is thicker at the top mostly to avoid having a camera hump, and the taper was a convenient way to accomplish this.

There is no waterproof phone, only water resistant, at least not now. And there is no point to have waterproof/water resistant phone if the warranty does not even cover it from water damage.

Having said that, waiting for more reviews on the Pixel's camera and hopefully it can justify the price a bit :)

Personally, I won't expect much difference in quality between N6P and Pixel cam. IMO, there are only two things to look forward to 1) better video stabilisation, 2) faster HDR+ image capture and processing.

Yeap, you got it right.. You submerged the iPhone 7 into water, and spoilt, bring in to service centre, I bet they will shoo you away.. At the first place, how do they know if you took your iPhone to shower, running in the rain, kept overnight in longkang, or ... It is your words against their T&C.. And warranty did not cover damage by water.

They said it is water resistant, but they also told you, please don't dip it in water..

Then do you think iPhone worth its price? Or S7 Edge or Note 7 worth their price? Don't quote the telco price, look at the retail price..

If Singtel / Starhub is bringing in Pixel, I guess people will find it "affordable"..

Well, seeing how Google is charging a very high premium price for this phone, I would say they might be competing with Apple.

There are other phones s7 edge, oneplus 3 and they are cheaper and offers pretty much the same specs as the Pixel phone. I can arguably say s7 edge or note 7 has better specs and design than Pixel.

If one has the money, then i wont stop them from purchasing one but poor peasants like me would expect the price to be cheaper seeing how nexus lineup over the past years has been like that. And to add on, i dont think the design of the phone justifies the price. Huge front bezel, no front speakers, copy iPhone design, no waterproof

The reason was to protect partners, if they will to sell it cheaply, it will effect the sales of it partner, aka other phones manufacturer

Personally I think the Pixel phones everything is good except the price
Hope local telcos will bring it in and sell as contract price =:p

If not paying S$1k (incl shipping + tax) for the phone w/o warranty is :s22:

Yeap, 4G+ and LTE-A are the same thing.. Basically LTE which supports CA. New Google Pixel supports up to 3CA. Their RoW model supports, 3-7 for 2CA LTE-A, and 3-7-7, 3-3-7 for 3CA.. The thing with Singapore is, whether our telcos have the infrastructure for 3CA.. Need to run few more Google check to find out..

Ok.. Found that Singtel is working on 3CA (and even 4CA).. Seems like Singtel 3CA will be 3+7+8.. And Pixel is supporting this for RoW model..
alexndrtz, you mentioned many acronyms in your post which i really do not understand. I have a friend coming back from USA end of this month and i wish to pre order the Pixel. Will i be able to use LTE over in SG with a US model? i am currently under starhub

Simple answer: Yes for LTE, No for LTE-A/4G+.

However, I wonder if any of SG telcos support same band aggregation, i.e., B7+B7, cos the NA variant supports this.

From Wiki, StarHub seems to be running on 2CA (Carrier Aggregation) on Band 3 + Band 7 for LTE-A .

North America set did not support this, but Rest of World (RoW) set does..

If you don't aim for that "double speed", both set should do just fine on normal LTE network..
Side note: Get unlocked set..

Pixel 128GB looks good...my Nexus 5 won't last much longer...but hopefully there's an avenue to buy it locally.

To all looking to buy locally, please la... I believe you all are new to the Nexus/Pixel game, dont have any expectations, especially since now it's not even by Huawei/LG.

Especially if getting one at that price without warranty... Oh, boy..

On side note: Google promises 24/7 customer service for Pixel, a service which we will not get to enjoy..

Our market too small, other than iPhone and Samsung, most brands don't focus here at all :(
