Since your brought up Doi Inathron i will continue from here. Doi Inathron is the highest point of thailand, along the way there is the twin pagoda built for the king and queen, and watchiran waterfall. I actually booked a tour with the hotel for 2400 per pax for Doi inathron with my bro, next morning the driver come pick us up at 7am.

Before he drive, i clarify with him the itenary first to make sure it is the same as what the hotel reception told us. I'm glad i did so, the driver told me he is no 导游 and will drive only plus the price don't include entry tickets, totally different from what the reception told us. Sibei dulan, straight away we got off the car. Then i did what almost turned to a disaster, and the disaster turned out to be the best part of my trip.

We took a yellow cab to the foot of the mountain. Then from there, took another yellow cab up the mountain. This part is no joke, the driver expect us to hang on to the back of the bus for the one hour journey as the bus was full. lol. Hang like this . . . . .

Halfway up, a lorry in front carrying cabbages toppled. Hence there was a break to rest.

Enjoy the scenary, cool temperature as the yellow cab goes up-hill

Alighted here at the entrance of the national park and bought the tickets. To our dismay, there is no public transport available and walking is not possible to the highest point of thailand. We are basically stuck here with no way up and down. That is why u need to join a tour or drive yourself

Long story short: The guards there help us ask every car which passed by if there are willing to bring us up. Happened that a retired couple, local, is willing to drive us up till the highest point but that's all. However, we chatted and got easy with each other. They offered to bring us to the highest point, twin pagoda, watchiran waterfall, local safari which is partially opened and back to our hotel. :)
(guy in 60s and women in 40s). lets name the guy "K".

Not only that, they offered to next day bring us to Doi Suthep temple, local hot spring, K's favourite restaunt at a dam and then to his house for dinner where his wife would cook for us. Really blessed to have met them. Else i still don't know how to go down the mountain.

wah lucky u all met the very frenly folks if not the whole trip gg

but how come the hotel help u all book so ex 2.4k per pax i go search on klook it only cost 28.49 for the trip with guide somemore

How much is your airfare? last I came here was to do the MHS loop on motorcycle..
Airfare is 290 two way. Good to motorbike here. I would have rented a roadbike to cycle if i am here alone.
Ts solo trip? How much you spent in total?
Went with my bro. excluding hotel and airfare, i brought around $1k sgd worth of baht. Swiped some amaze card. Got left-over cash, honestly i haven count. But i estimate around $600? its cheap if you never naughty. I did proper clean massage 2 hour everyday as it is damn cheap, half price of JB. 1 hour massage there price got slashed till 200baht. Most of my meals in restaurants. Everywhere i go is either tuktuk or grabcar.

Chiangmai is good except for the weather. Last time was still cooling but the last time I went in Dec 2 years ago, it was super hot. I asked the locals why, they said climate had changed.

Ohh u still know how to take the yellow songtheaw. The driver speaks English or u know Thai? Then what happened to the money u paid for the transport to drive u around?

I first went to changmai 11 years expecting to be able to get taxi easily like Bangkok, turns out almost zero taxis around and that time no grab yet.

Had a hard time trying to communicate with drivers of these songtheaws to get around so most of my trip in changmai was on foot.

However managed to find out how to take the songtheaws to the transport terminal where I took a hired van together with other passengers to Pai.

Pai is much cooler but same no transport so haha got a half day tour which was on a motorbike. Evening is damn cool and nice to walk in the night market.

Subsequently went to changrai as well and same took a day tour 1000 baht out to golden triangle, the white temple and the border town to walk around.

I have always wanted to go back to changmai. The next time I go, it will be via Bangkok already.

From Bangkok got a overnight first class train to changmai. Bout 100 sgd and get the whole cabin to yourself together with own private toilet and hot shower. Definitely an experience by itself

The songthaew drivers near my hotel could speak English fairly well. Maybe cos my hotel is the colonial type, a lot of boomer angmohs like to holiday there.
