Super hot like SG, think its abit hotter at this season. Sep i heard will be aircon temperature, but then will likely be more crowded.

all along north thailand can get much much hotter than BKK or SG, esp around Songkran. best time to go is end of year.

but given SG's terrible weather in the last 2 years, I think we are same same already.... :ROFLMAO: maybe Chiangmai is less humid so the heat feels slightly less oppressive

Since your brought up Doi Inathron i will continue from here. Doi Inathron is the highest point of thailand, along the way there is the twin pagoda built for the king and queen, and watchiran waterfall. I actually booked a tour with the hotel for 2400 per pax for Doi inathron with my bro, next morning the driver come pick us up at 7am.

Before he drive, i clarify with him the itenary first to make sure it is the same as what the hotel reception told us. I'm glad i did so, the driver told me he is no 导游 and will drive only plus the price don't include entry tickets, totally different from what the reception told us. Sibei dulan, straight away we got off the car. Then i did what almost turned to a disaster, and the disaster turned out to be the best part of my trip.

We took a yellow cab to the foot of the mountain. Then from there, took another yellow cab up the mountain. This part is no joke, the driver expect us to hang on to the back of the bus for the one hour journey as the bus was full. lol. Hang like this . . . . .

Halfway up, a lorry in front carrying cabbages toppled. Hence there was a break to rest.

Enjoy the scenary, cool temperature as the yellow cab goes up-hill. Got scolded by family for doing such dangerous stunt. If fall down is like fall on sand paper.

Alighted here at the entrance of the national park and bought the tickets. To our dismay, there is no public transport available and walking is not possible to the highest point of thailand. We are basically stuck here with no way up and down. That is why u need to join a tour or drive yourself

Long story short: The guards there help us ask every car which passed by if there are willing to bring us up. Happened that a retired couple, local, is willing to drive us up till the highest point but that's all. However, we chatted and got easy with each other. They offered to bring us to the highest point, twin pagoda, watchiran waterfall, local safari which is partially opened and back to our hotel. :)
(guy in 60s and women in 40s). lets name the guy "K".

Not only that, they offered to next day bring us to Doi Suthep temple, local hot spring, K's favourite restaunt at a dam and then to his house for dinner where his wife would cook for us. Really blessed to have met them. Else i still don't know how to go down the mountain.

Some mad shiet there yo!!!!

But can go whole day without peeing one, scary. End of day just some really yellow pee.

wah lucky u all met the very frenly folks if not the whole trip gg

but how come the hotel help u all book so ex 2.4k per pax i go search on klook it only cost 28.49 for the trip with guide somemore
My mistake, its actually 2.4k for 2 pax private car. Don't need to share with others. Supposed to include all the attraction as shown in picture except for the long neck tribe as they are closed temporarily due to covid.

In hindsight i'll still think 2.4k is decent, plus 300baht each for the tickets, total 3k. If treat it like book a private car for a day still quite ok and i actually regretted calling the deal off halfway to Doi Inathron, after realizing i got myself into a deep hole.

Long time no go Thai.

last time massage start at 200baht, then 250baht.

now what’s e rate liao
Back to 200. If you go near the cultural market you can even find 140 de. And the price of the massage has nothing to do with the standard. Look for old aunty with strong arms, they are typically very good. Theres also a chain like our yellow ribbon made up of ex-prisoners masseurs. Massage is hit or miss de, once i find someone good i will stick with her for the rest of the trip.
Ohh u still know how to take the yellow songtheaw. The driver speaks English or u know Thai? Then what happened to the money u paid for the transport to drive u around?

I first went to changmai 11 years expecting to be able to get taxi easily like Bangkok, turns out almost zero taxis around and that time no grab yet.

Had a hard time trying to communicate with drivers of these songtheaws to get around so most of my trip in changmai was on foot.

However managed to find out how to take the songtheaws to the transport terminal where I took a hired van together with other passengers to Pai.

Pai is much cooler but same no transport so haha got a half day tour which was on a motorbike. Evening is damn cool and nice to walk in the night market.

Subsequently went to changrai as well and same took a day tour 1000 baht out to golden triangle, the white temple and the border town to walk around.
The hotel didn't take any deposits. I don't know thai but the driver speaks english. Google maps actually mark the routes of the yellow cabs so i have no issues knowing which number to take and where to alight.
I have always wanted to go back to changmai. The next time I go, it will be via Bangkok already.

From Bangkok got a overnight first class train to changmai. Bout 100 sgd and get the whole cabin to yourself together with own private toilet and hot shower. Definitely an experience by itself
You really know how to look for experiences, i would love to try it for my next trip.

Highest point of Thailand! No spectacular views though. Its kind solemn and peaceful and K's family came here for prayers.

K offered us to squeeze in the front of the car but we chosed the back and it rained again. . .. lol... On the way down towards the waterfall we stopped by the market for toilet break. K's wife bought us thai style goreng pisang and mulberries. This goreng pisang very special, the banana is reddish and very fragrant, i can't find the same goreng pisang elsewhere. Anybody knows what is this, do share. ..

The spectacular Wachirathan waterfall.

After the waterfall, went for short visit to the partially opened local safari and then back to hotel. Will update further on next day where K bring us to Doi Suthep, dam view lunch, hot spring and dinner at his place.
