hi all,

has anyone tried the BZ13 before? any local retailers to recommend?
also, anyone has experience with Lelit or Quickmill machines? i read somewhere they are almost similar... do they have local distros?

thanks for enlightening a noob!!

Quickmill is distributed by Necessary Provision at Eng Kong. If you ask a staff and he tells you they don't, smack him and ask for the boss. Lol!

Cause he blur like sotong made me go there for nothing.

Anywhere, I think they only carry the Vetrano 2B. It is a double boiler machine with PID, rotary pump and E61 grouphead.

Not sure if there is lelit here in Singapore though.

From what I know, only Fine Coffee Company carries Bezzera machines. As for Lelit, Highlander Coffee only put up one grinder on their website. Maybe can check with them whether they can order Lelit machines for you.

Anyone can recommend a naked portafilter for my rancilio silvia and a tamper?

Tamper I'll just get a relatively cheap one (around $20 before shipping)from taobao. Pretty good quality. Search for 咖啡压粉器. A good quality wooden handle tamper will be above $40.

I was thinking of getting the espro calibrated tamper from highlander
My tamps have so far been pretty unconsistent do you think this will help much?

Also are there any other "better" naked portafilter other than the rancilio ones or are they all about the same? Because the rancilio ones on amazon are also already pretty pricey, might as well get a "better" one for a little more?

Considering too. But I think won't get espro due to its price. More likely a normal one, or a knock-off version like this one:

Tbh I think calibrated tampers are a waste of money. I don't think you need to be so precise on the amount of pressure you exert as long as the surface is level and tamping pressure is more or less consistent . Baskets like vst or epnw will give you more of an improvement in extraction.
You can look at cafelat for better quality portafilters.

hmm, just looked at cafelat and i think ill be ordering the portafilter and a tamper from them. they ship from HK so shipping is only 19$ and their prices are pretty reasonable thumbs up for a good recommendation!

Does anybody know where to get vst baskets? And whats the difference between ridged and ridgeless?
whats epnw?
Will the synesso basket from papapalheta work okay? Or is the vst basket significantly better?

If you wanna get VSTs, at least get a 58.35mm tamper. Either Pullman or reg Barber. It'll be a closer fit for the VSTs.
When tamping, do not focus on the amount of pressure. Focus instead in making the puck as level as possible.
And there's no such thing as a 'better' naked portafilter function wise. It's just a holder for your basket that's all. Just get the cheapest you can find.

hmm, any cheap portafilter do you recommend? Cause right now I kinda have no idea where to look at other that the cafelat portafilter. Any thoughts on those? http://www.cafelatstore.com/products/rancilio-portafilter

kinda a dual purpose portafilter it can be bottomless as well as have a spout attached to it. My stock rancilio portafilter has a piece of the wire around the rim of the portafilter sticking out, making the basket kinda hard to attach but otherwise works fine so I could use that portafilter to replace mine as well as have a bottomless portafilter

I got my VSTs from chriscoffee. I recommend getting the ridgeless if you swap baskets regularly. Otherwise the ridged ones, they're quite a tight fit on your portafilter and a hassle to take out everytime.

wow, shipping from chris coffee costs twice the amount of the vst baskets!
I think I may order from hasbean's website. Any beans to recommend from them? I will try a bag at the same time!

You can use a forwarder like comgateway or 65daigou. 65dg is $4.50 per 500g to sg.
