wondering what's wrong with my grinder. using the BEZZERA BB005 TM ESPRESSO COFFEE GRINDER.

the output quite inconsistent. e.g. last week, I set the output for 1x espresso cup. was ok. it filled up my portafilter. today I use, it only fill up 1/2 portafilter. wonder is it the beans not fresh, or grinder problem.

Do u time ur shot and save it with steam milk before it becomes a dead shot? Wad milk u using? I find pura ok

No point in doing that, beans come in different sizes

Crema exists for 3-5 days after roasting.


Old beans be old

Not really 3-5 days, freshly roasted ones can last 2-3 weeks with crema if stored in dry areas. But throughout the week must adjust the grind bit by bit, usually by grinding finer but suit to taste la, crema doesnt mean good taste huge debate on whether crema is necessary but not going to touch there.

From the look of it, derazor your beans a bit the old leh... did the shop you get your silvia from mentioned if they have scace the grouphead pressure and adjust the OPV? And most importantly where did you get the beans from? Lets try to eliminate the factors


And true, spend a bit more on a grinder, mazzer mini, macap equivalent, the grinder can last you many many years so its a good investment. At most sell back here in HWZ nia

Must remember that the bean weight in the hopper will cause the grind to differ. So always fill up the hopper to full. More beans in the hopper = finer the grind. Quite troublesome I know, and if can't use finish the beans, pour back into the bag and dont expose to environment.

Pura or farmhouse full cream milk

I think you wasted money on your handheld grinder.

As i mentioned somewhere before.
Get an auto doserless timer grinder straight and that solves half your problems.


As for coffee, go find something with 20% robusta

Doubt bought directly from Spinelli since it's being modify with PID. The PID looks like from Auberins right Derazor?

If it's used, you might want to get the local company to do a maintenance first.
Check the safety valves, gaskets are fine.

Not sure if Spinelli does it.

If doing milk based drinks, I always steam the milk 1st. I tried doing both at the same time once and I overrun the shot coz too concentrated on steaming the milk.

I've tried pura, Greenfields and meji. Pura's taste the best but most ex.

Got it from a friend. Working condition is ok since it's less than a year old . He upgraded to dual boiler liao

Since my basket is the 15g type, does it matter that i get a weigh machine? Or just dose slightly more and use the hand to sweep it off?

Is this good enough?

derazor: Usually will over dose the basket size 1... the dose and sweep off is a good practice for consistency, of course with a weighing machine it will sorta eliminate 1 factor. Try to watch barista in proper cafe and youtube videos to get a feel of the whole procedure.

But dont forget what is the most important is in the cup! Drink, taste nice, feel happy and get satisfied!


PS: Anyway does anybody know how much those commercial machine (La marzocco, synesso) one or 2 grouphead cost? Just need the basic ones to put at home one day

FYI, both the sensors for brew & steam mode are mounted on the tank surface. This means that for brew mode, what is set on the PID doesnt equal to output water temperature.
