Folks who have got the Gaggia Classic Pro 2019 from GalonCoffee, can I ask if it came with 1 or 2 water tubes in the tank? Mine came with one, but I see the manual and videos it's supposed to be two. Not sure what may be the impact.

Secondly, my machine vibrate like mad, so much so that the cup actually moves and I would have to physically hold it down to prevent it from falling off the drip tray.

Newbie here. Am I doing something wrong?

Anyone bought espresso machine from Cowpresso before? Their Lelit Bianca is going for $3200. Should be significantly cheaper than Highlander. Is cowpresso trustworthy for machines?

My gaggia classic also vibrates like mad. Not 2019 version. Damn annoying tbh.

Yeah damn irritated by it. Distributor said to give it some time for it to season. I'll give it a month.

Side topic: recommendations for italian-style dark roasts with fully body? I'm trying the FCC Margo and it's really good. But it smells better than it tastes. Haha. Looking for more options with this profile.

Yeah but I think vibration to the point of cups falling off the drop tray is a little too much. :s13:

My old Gaggia machine (10 years ago) was also like that, to the point of I never put anything on top.

It's the drip tray, so I can't "not put anything on top". Else I won't be able to make my espresso. :s13: basically right now I'll have to hold my cup when my espresso is brewing. Else it will just bounce away from the spouts and eventually land on my floor.

Haha, that’s sounds pretty extreme!

I would like to ask experts here how to ship espresso machine from Australia? I am looking at Breville BES878 Barista Pro Espresso Machine which retails at 849AUD at Australia Harvey Norman. Singapore Harvey Norman sells S$1598. A big big difference in my opinion. Anyone has any contact to do shipping in a safe way in Australia?

Alternatively, I am going to Australia in March, anyone checked in an espresso machine before?

Do people use rechargeable inline water softeners with tap water for espresso machines in SG?

SG tap water is supposed to be soft, but the TDS meter gave 110 ppm, which I know includes not just Calcium and Magnesium but other solids too. In contrast, the TDS of Crystal Geyser (Mt Shasta) spring water that I use in the USA is 50ppm. I'm surprised spring water has lower TDS than SG tap water which mostly comes from rain. :s22: It's because of fluoride?

I'm thinking I might be able to get rid of the softener and the sodium it puts out by switching the tap water with distilled water + potassium bicarbonate. Then no descaling will be necessary.

We like the compact Essenza Mini because it makes the same quality coffee as machines that cost hundreds more without any extra frills.

The Essenza Mini is small and mighty, capable of making the same ristrettos, espressos, and lungos as any other Nespresso machine in its line. Its slim, attractive frame can fit in even the smallest kitchen, and its simplicity makes it the easiest Nespresso machine to use and clean. SO try it out! Amazon.

Hi all,

Need some recommendations for espresso machines. Ready to move up from Nespresso. I make 1-2 milk based drinks every morning, before I head off to work. Can be a mad rush, so workflow is prioritized. Need something that has reasonable heat-up.

So far, have shortlisted the following:

Grinder: Sette 270wi, or Niche. Appreciate advice on Lelit's offerings.

Machine: Was initially looking at Gaggia Classic/Silvia, but now considering for Lelit's Grace/Victoria as that will give more mileage. More inclined for Victoria as that has a 58mm grouphead, larger power and shorter warm-up time? Robot seems too much hassle/work for a morning cup.

Appreciate your thoughts!

Milk based + mad rush mornings? Forget about single boilers!
Go for heat exchanger machines.
