Probably introducing too much air at the start as well, try starting off deeper than you normally would THEN lower the jug so the steam wand approaches the surface and introduce a bit of air. If you hear a slurping sound that's probably too much. You want something that sounds like paper tearing.

i try to post video but 2 hands are on the pitcher already, not easy.

I'm using the 12oz pitcher, I do have a bigger 20oz but I think the 12oz fits better. Normally I will fill it up with milk slightly below the spout. The want is angled and positioned between the center and the edge to ensure there's rolling.

Currently I will put it like 1s slightly below the surface and dunk it in 1.5 to 2inch below milk surface and remove the wand when I can't hold the pitcher due to heat.
12 oz is not big.

Try insert your wand upright, not at an angle.

Hello all...
Relatively new to the coffee scene in Singapore. Used to drink lots of espresso when I was studying in Melbourne, when I finally returned to SG went a bit overboard on drinking the kopitiam kopi here, only realised recently there was quite a nice coffee community here so started trying to get back to making home espresso again.

Used to be able to do latte art even half asleep last time, now can't even remember how to pull a normal shot~ A lot of muscle memory needed esp for the steaming

One question - any suggestions where to buy/sell used coffee gear in SG?

You don't see a lot of used ones that are decent.
The decents ones are resold very expensively.
You will only see a lot of single boilers and those sort of krups machines if that's what you are looking.

I was looking but i got a new set up from Fine Coffee Company - Bringing the best since 2007 (Malaysia/Singapore) in the end. It's cheaper than in Aussie and covered with warranty, no point importing, particularly when you don't know how much scale or oil build up is inside.

The coffee odour will most likely spread to your grid if it's not shielded.

My puck grew mould after a week, no idea how can i store it.

Its winter and very dry for me. Coffee odor sounds stinky! Lol

Many of these domestic super autos do not use a grinder capable enough for espresso. The grounds are too coarse and the flow is too fast. When I loaded up my Jura with beans grounded from my rocky the machine is able to produce something more decent but the machine really sounds like its straining. I think the plastic parts inside cannot take the pressure from a proper puck. Sometimes the machine will auto eject the puck without brewing because the grounds are just too fine. Would be great if the arist is able to get around this problem.

Unfortunately the market here is very small. You could check with some retailers as they may carry machines from customers who are upgrading. Otherwise best buy 1st hand la. I have warranty support which is important as the machine can break down.

Oh if you are handy you could try rebuilding an old olympia cremina from eBay. Orphan espresso sells spare parts and should definitely be cheaper than what a new cremina sells for.

It's a all in one machine for lazy ppl who didn't want to have a separate milk container outside machine. It will be loud, it's has to grind beans. A nespresso is like sgd$250-300 with the milk frother. Need to pull milk from fridge and wash the container, hate that. Nesapresso has to pay for expensive beans. Arist they better have a good cheap way to clean. Price wise now at usd$299, cheap. Nespresso ppl claim it break after 2-3 yrs. this if breaks after 2-3 yrs also not heart pain.

Buy a jura or saeco cost more anyway. They make ok espresso not great. At usd$299 don't expect it to perform like a hx. U get jura quality be happy. Go try a brew from jura or saeco if u ok with it great. Most ppl can't discern anyway.

If everyone has such expensive tongue Starbucks may not be in biz

the guy demostrating the machine looks like he is going to have a heart attack at anytime.

They did not show how the cleaning should be done.
Won't the milk and syrup part make it damn messy?

How does the bean weighing thing works? Sounds csb.
So after weighing the machine can pick or add a few more beans?

Removing physical button control is a very bad idea.
Such wireless connection is very unstable imo.

If they will ever sell at the orginal rrp US$699, i think i can get a better machine with that money.
