In a special case/scenario, communication was a problem. My hiking boots started to give way after one of my hikes.

Upon returning to Aomori station, I tried asking the two TWMM whether they wanted to have dinner together or not, but they told me they had already made a reservation in an Izakaya, so I got the hint, it is another FA dinner again

Day 4

Jiak ba ba again in the hotel breakfast before checking out.

I left my backpack with the hotel as I wanted to visit Hirosaki before making my way to the next prefecture.

Came across to this unique looking Starbucks branch, which is right outside the surrounding of the Hirosaki castle.

I didn't have much expectation for this day trip knowingly that the castle keep(tower) has been shifted in order for the castle wall to carry out its renovation.

Inside the castle keep, there was a small exhibition of the renovation.

It took 70 days to move the castle keep to the present location.

Some of the tools used to shift the castle keep.

I used time-lapse to record the time-lapse of the shift, double fast-forwarding . There was one scene where the local was involved in pulling the ropes for the shift. I guess, this fosters the people's sense of belongings to the city.


On the last level in the castle keep, there was a photo exhibition of all the existing castles in Japan.

You get to view Mt. Iwaki right outside of the castle keep.

I was wondering how they removed/stopped the water from filling up the moat in order to repair the castle stone wall, until I went over to the other side to see.

Went back to Aomori to have my late lunch at the A-factory which I saw on Day 2.

Trying out the Aomori Apple Burger and ordered Apple Highball from the stall beside this burger stall.

Took Shinkansen to Miyagi prefecture, and will be staying in Sendai for the next 6 days. Happened to see a rainbow during the train ride. It was a full arc, but my phone does not have ultra wide zoom function to capture it

As mentioned in the earlier post, my hiking boots is about to up the lorry. So, I went to the ABC-Mart and hooted a pair of walking shoes upon reaching Sendai.

Day 5

Making a day trip to Zao in Yamagata prefecture as I wanted to see the Okama crater.

Has to take two cable cars to go up.

This place is a ski resort during winter, and the famous snow monster.

The view leaving the base ropeway station. Tiagong the trees were deliberately removed to craft out a path for ski lovers.

As the cable car approached the topmost ropeway station, the view outside changed drastically, and this song immediately came to mind

Yahoo weather indicates 8 deg, but the chill was worse than what I had experienced in Asahikawa (minus 8 to 10 deg iirc) during the winter period.

The wind speed was so crazy. I saw a person’s face mask got blown away!

My fingers showed sign of discolouring before I leave this ropeway station

Ish can go di, but need to make a lot of planning adjustment from your usual couple holiday trip. During my return flight, I saw a young family brought along their helper for the trip.

I sat the other side when coming down from the ropeway stations.

Get to see more of the skiing paths.

The base itself is actually an onsen town . The smell of the sulphate is sibei gaolat.
