Just need MOE to come up with a more robust framework on dealing with bullying case.

There will be a need for MOE to come out a process for the schools to update MOE on any bullying cases raised. The Schools can handled the cases with their localized school discipline committee, but needs to provide update to MOE AND parent within certain time frame.

From there, MOE, will have a database on the numbers of bullying cases, and they can also monitor the rectification action by the schools, and intervene if the schools take no or limited action.

MOE also needs to open up a whistleblowing channel (I believed already have, but needs to educate students/parent). This is for schools who only do paperwork action to appease MOE, and the victim got to highlight to MOE
How to be robust when some parents can claim to be linked to govt big shots? Hah

Actually this can be seen in two ways

Low levels of enforcement can be due to complacency or it could be due to the desire not to offend cos job at stake

I get complacency but the desire to not offend parents by not punishing the kid is downright signalling the wrong things to the public.

Actually very curious. Is there any reasons why concerned parents cannot volunteer to participate in such committees? Then if an issue is over protective parents, then committee will know how bad is this issue cos they are the parents

And can open up to any parents with existing students to be in the committee with two conditions

They must exit the committee if they have children balloting for entry cos this activity is not meant to give them any advantage when enrolling

If their children are either the bullied or the bully, they will face the rest of the committee (something like a closed door trial) before any punishment is meted out to the children.

I think any serpents here would know the private-public sector segregation where you can even friggin' claim you are the distant nephew of Harry Lee Kwan Yew and you still won't get special treatment.

Those serpents whose bolla shrink at those and choose to kowtow instead of holding firm are just being eunuches. That act itself, will earn no one any joy.

The authority of parents ought to be reduced. If they cannot take their kid to hand then someone else will. If they cannot comply they can go live on a deserted island n do what they like.
MOE should allow schools to be more liberal with suspension and expulsion. If parent kpkb just expel or suspend and let them settle their children on their own. Convenience or power, please choose 1.

So you want the Singapore government to be more authoritarian than it is now???

My way or the highway?

Arent u advocating for schools to take stronger and more prompt action?

So do u prefer more or less authoritarian govt? Im confused.

If not govt take actions thru schools, who are you thinking shd take action instead?

If parents outsource the disciplining to the schools, and the schools push back to the parents, this is what you get lol....
Parents never outsource. If teacher dare to touch their boy boy or ah girl, their mother will jitao even by pass the school principal and go and see MP plus send email to moe after lodge police report. Now teachers treat student like boss

It was supposed to be settled under the Casio Boy.
It is now passed to another person.
What is he going to do about it ?
Or wait for the next musical chair ?
School bully can never be settled. Same with workplace bully. As long as there are ppl living together there will be bullying. I am very sure every country have the same problem in their school

It is the way they continue to silence the victim.
Which is not really helping them and their parents.

This will make a state more powerful than it is. Not a good idea also

Cos imagine if this applies to mRNA vaccines. Parents who reject vaccinating their kids don’t know what is good for society so if cannot comply, either go on a deserted island (but border lockdown so nowhere to go) or the authorities just forcibly vaccinate
Depends on the matter at hand. So far our govt has been doing opposite.
