If I have a meal that cost $6 in hawker center that is delicious

then I eat something in a mall that is bad tasting, then perhaps it is only worth $3. Ok it’s got aircon, how much should I pay for that? Maybe $1? So make it $4. But it sells $20. With gst etc up to $25. Drinks and others close to $30.

then I go aircon place there. $6-10 there. Taste as good or better than hawker food here. A bit healthier. Aesthetic pleasing. Give you a smile. Free water refill. Can see other Singaporeans.

For me, that extra $4 is okish. And definitely better than the mall food here

of cos our mileage differs. I’m sure u will find a minority who feels the same way u do
Sorry no clue what you are talking about.

I skipped Uji. From what I heard it's mostly matcha stuff?

I spent 3 days in Kyoto and cannot even finish half the attractions. Some need to touch and go.
Kyoto bus is slow. If u travel 40 mins one way, going any places easily take up 1.5hrs and whole trip maybe 4-5hrs ? And if shorten the duration at each place will feel rushed …

Value is relative
I wasn't comparing value. I was just comparing the prices. Anyway, SG is our country, JP is a country we go to travel. There is no point talking about value since we would not stay in JPN for that long.

Value is everything. Maybe that’s why u dun see why others say things that way.

And it’s not about staying permanently or long period maybe we can leave that out of the discussion.. or probably end it here

anyway I think ts trip is quite on the budget end and he will show the less expensive side on his trip which I shall not derail too much. He just want to share what he enjoy

What places you go in Kyoto? Furthest on taxi how much it cost you?
Doesn't matter. I have a group of 4, after awhile it was makes more sense for me to take taxi then figuring out how to get to X place via a foreign public transport system which wasn't that great imo.

If you just want to say whatever you want to say without referencing the context of my original statement then you don't have to quote me.

Checked into my capsule hotel at 3pm. Facilities are pretty clean but the air vents are dusty. You get what you pay for.

Nope, but it's not something I'm into though I enjoy it on occasion.
Then why specifically choose to go uji?

and sometimes the “specialty” may not even be cheaper at such places and instead is more ex

No, spent only one day in Uji, then took the train back to Tokyo. Went there to get my relative some special "ceremonial matcha" and also check it out the place.

Took some tips from this YouTube video.

I like Uji, they have a tea museum, tell you history about tea leaves and also teach you how to make 🍵 tea drinks
