So for the physical grabpay card, I’ll need to top up money into my grab wallet first before I can use it to make payment? Or does it work like a credit card and bill to me at end of the cycle?

Need to top up first. Will be charged against Grab wallet immediately when you make payment using the card (except simplygo which will be charged with 10cents first and the rest cumulated and charged a few days later)

does topping up grabpay considered an online transaction?

Most banks and credit cards are closing the perks for topping up e-wallets like Grab-Pay, You-Trip, Revolut etc....

So no rebates, count towards minimum spend etc...naddah...

After 16 mar, grabpay will be totally useless as a payment method as they only giving 0.8% grabrewards which is one of the worst cashback right?

Depends on what you are paying for, and what they are changing the MCC to.

1) If I can get 4mpd on other cards, then grabpay is not useful.

2) But if it is cash or grabpay, then grabpay still gives something.

3) Similarly, if you paying for something that is excluded by all your credit cards (ie Insurance or other bills), if you can still get points somewhere topping up to grab (depends on what MCC they changing to), still better than 0 pts or cash / bank transfers. Grab now excludes Insurance (at least my AIA payments give 0 pts) from giving any grab points. May still get points for topping up.

I believe SimplyGo doesn’t give grab rewards. Y still use this card for SimplyGo?

Actually after 1 Mar the rewards will be adjusted downwards already. So for those whose UOB ONE statement ends after 1 March and before 15 March would have no choice but to still top up and use at a lousy rewarding rate.

The nerf of the 10% UOB one topup is a much greater loss compare to what grab reward points can offer, more than happy to topup max before 15mar

Yah. The Grab reward change only injure Grab wallet and GPMC. Then UOB came along with its sword and killed it.

Grab rewards adjustment is on 2-Mar, not 1-Mar. So we have one day window to whack SGD2000 from UOB into GrabPay on 1-Mar; and try to spend as much as possible on same day to maximize Grab rewards. Haha... My UOB One cards cycle is Jan-Mar; so this will be for me :)

Edit: sorry, now I see you meant if UOB billing cycle is after 1-Mar but before 16th. My billing cycle is on end of month; I though this is the same for everybody.
