even if I read this, GPMC is a debit card also right ?

Grab calls it "GrabPay Card". they didn't specificaly say it is a debit or a credit card.

so i don't think they are confusing anybody. but maybe people tend to assume?

I think you are confused, GPMC payment come from the wallet, what use grabpay for GPMC are you talking about?

it's quite clear to me when they made the announcement, and i think only some are confuse not all. the confused are making others confused.

- GrabPay has a Debit card function which is a Mastercard deducting balance from Grab Wallet which can be topped up using PayNow, Debit or credit card. This will continue to earn points as they definitely want to encourage the use of their own GrabPay Debit MasterCard
- Inside Grab App, there is a ability to pay for Grab ecosystem stuffs like Grabcar, GrabFood etc via the option of Credit Card directly. This is the one that will no longer award points from 1 August. The aim is to discourage people to use the credit card directly to pay and push customers to drive up use of the GrabPay Wallet and Grab Debit Card.

Oh, I didn't know they've gift cards instead of those fixed denomination vouchers! So these are store value cards? Do you scan it like a credit/debit card?

Much better than vouchers then, for not having to use specific denominations...

To use the gift card, just give to cashier to scan. Can also be used at self checkout machine. The receipt will show the balance and expiry date. Everytime you topup, the expiry date get pushed further.

Each top-up of the Fairprice gift card will extend the validity by 1 year.

Paper vouchers usually have around 1.5 years of validity as when they print them, usually starts with 2 years expiry date.....

I paid for Macs a few days ago, and gotten GrabPay card accelerator points, but this morning bought Macs breakfast, no accelerator points ... is this expected?
