I have 2 x $1 held by Grab. I called Grab. Cs replied me with an email saying is Singtel who hold my $2 and ask me to wait for 14 work days. I don't understand why they can't just block the transaction instead of needing to deduct 1st then ask ppl to wait for 14 work days.. very irritating

They should set in such a way for refund to be auto and immediate instead of holding our $ liddat. How I wish i can charge them interest

I can guarantee you that Grab CSO gave you those replies, without even investigating if merchant has refunded, or if Grab has makan the money. It's the standard reply that they give evryone, in order to save time. The reality is, merchant has already refunded you, and Grab is just trying to make you go away and hope you will give up on the $1 because it's too troublesome.

How do i know? Because that's the reply they gave me also. Tried to claim that it's because merchant is holding my monies for 14 days before they will refund me. Then when i told them that merchant already confirmed in black and white that they have refunded me a month ago, Grab quickly backpedalled, and said they will investigate.

I can guarantee you that Grab CSO gave you those replies, without even investigating if merchant has refunded, or if Grab has makan the money. It's the standard reply that they give evryone, in order to save time. The reality is, merchant has already refunded you, and Grab is just trying to make you go away and hope you will give up on the $1 because it's too troublesome.

Do they ask you to show them the black and white?
I just had a chat with their support of $0.1 of simplygo registration, after 23 days, the $0.1 is not refunded, and they asked me to show black and white, I say too much effort just for $0.1

So in short, do not use GPMC for $0.1 or $1 registration, just waste too much effort to recover it back

pretty disheartening to see the two sharings above. it may be petty to one individual, but if there's 1000 customers, they're makan-ing $1000 for each $1 registration.

it's a matter of business ethics and principles. why are they getting away with this?

wa the capital mall voucher really gone. i redeemed evwrything last week. got a lot new rewards though

To their credit, they didn't, though i have it readily available. If they asked for it, I'd abuse the crap out of them while providing it though.

After calling giant and Grab and waiting few weeks in between the calls (because they say need processing time at least 14 days). Finally Grab put up chargeback yesterday and email say can takeup to 50 days to investigate disputes.


The terrible part is if after 14 work days I don't get my refund, I will be asked to file a charge back which could take up to 50 days :( really omg!

I have never experience refund for Debit card before. Is the refund by Grabpay card worse than debit card refund ?

Btw those who call up and told to wait, remember to ask them for ticket number so that next time you call can quote the ticket number.

I have learnt not to use Grappay mastercard for any transaction that works on pre-authorisation or where I forsee that there is possibility of refund or possible dispute. Have stopped using it for simplygo and qoo10. Now I only use it at counters or to pay bills online.

The last straw was for giant online. Giant online (Watsons and NTUC too) works such that they pre-authorise when you order and they do actual charge after delivery. Works well for credit card. But Grabpay master being a prepaid card is charged on order. Then Giant inform me one day before delivery that most items out of stock. Their email (template) say not to worry only final amount for delivered items will be charged. But the fact is full payment has been made already. After calling giant and Grab and waiting few weeks in between the calls (because they say need processing time at least 14 days). These online purchases works on pre-authorisation procedure. The process is simple for credit cards. But when it comes to prepaid cards like Grabpay mastercard it becomes a nightmare.

Just to report back. Grab just refunded me. They file for charge back on 24 Feb and I was refunded on 26 Feb. Don't think charge back work so fast. Anyway, my case closed.

I waited 1 month twice before writing to them to refund $0.1 verification charge. They didn't ask for black and white and refunded me within 1-2 days.

I wonder if it will be refunded automatically if I didn't ask?

would be really embarrassing (for a company like Grab) to have to resort to using chargeback to get back that $0.1 or $1...

seems like their working ethics need to change.

Remember redeem grab points by end of FEB. After that need more points to redeem same reward
