I still on the waiting list since December for the physical card. T.T

You need to resubmit for the card request. I applied for the grab card when launched and did not receive anything. I resubmit the request for the card and received it within 2 weeks.

are you a heavy user of grab? if you aren't, then maybe don't bother... heard the reward points from march is much crappier and also no more top up benefits with most if not all credit cards.

i'm just going to use it for february and march (by topping up) to fulfil my UOB min. spend and also get the extra 5% before 16 March. then slowly use up the credits in the wallet until $0.

heng i'm not aiming for $2k tier.

Thanks for sharing

I have learnt not to use Grappay mastercard for any transaction that works on pre-authorisation or where I forsee that there is possibility of refund or possible dispute. Have stopped using it for simplygo and qoo10. Now I only use it at counters or to pay bills online.

The last straw was for giant online. Giant online (Watsons and NTUC too) works such that they pre-authorise when you order and they do actual charge after delivery. Works well for credit card. But Grabpay master being a prepaid card is charged on order. Then Giant inform me one day before delivery that most items out of stock. Their email (template) say not to worry only final amount for delivered items will be charged. But the fact is full payment has been made already. After calling giant and Grab and waiting few weeks in between the calls (because they say need processing time at least 14 days). Finally Grab put up chargeback yesterday and email say can takeup to 50 days to investigate disputes.

These online purchases works on pre-authorisation procedure. The process is simple for credit cards. But when it comes to prepaid cards like Grabpay mastercard it becomes a nightmare.

Even if I click the invite mail that I received in dec, I only get the early access request. Didn’t get to confirm my address. On iOS which was problematic since dec.

I am planning to earn 4mpd on top up and slowly use on normal expenses. Cleared up my grab points already.

1250 points for $5 toastbox, not too bad.

I managed to redeem 1. When i wanted to redeem another set, it disappears from my screen. I wonder if limitation is set or simply out of stock..

Do we need to claim back the small charges by SimplyGo and Giant? I overlooked them.

SimplyGo verification is just 10 cents. They refunded like 1 to 2 mths. The 10 cents when you take bus or MRT is deducted against final charge after 5 days. Amount is small so up to you whether you want to track and chase. I would suggest just track and wait.

But Giant amount might be larger depending on the cost of out of stock items. Suggest if you don't get refund 14 working days from delivery date, to call Giant to confirm that they have refunded and ask for date they process refund, then call Grab to ask why no refund yet.

Anyway just sharing this in case anyone missed it:

Payments to the following merchants / merchant categories are not eligible for GrabRewards points, regardless if these payments are made using the in-app GrabPay check-out option or using the GrabPay Card:

Money transfer or remittance service providers
Payments to banks or third-party mobile wallets
Investment or brokerage platforms
Billing service providers and bill aggregators (including AXS)

The above list is non-exhaustive.
We are constantly reviewing these merchant categories and may add/remove categories in accordance with our risk and security protocols.

I actually only realized recently abt some of my payments via axs in the past did not earn any points sadly. Paid for my telco bills which I would get if paid directly.
And some of my fave transactions did not earn points as well using card saved in app. Qoo10 via grab pay also din get.

We’ll be expanding the rewards selection and revising the pricing structure for redemptions. We’ll also be introducing GrabRewards Flash Sale events so you can save up to 50% on your redemptions.

Looks like we can expect Flash sale at times which may hv some decent deals but vanish quickly. If so, I won't rush to redeem all my points. Was traumatised tt they hv removed capita star n worried more gone so I made some not so worthy redemption earlier

Nowadays credit card rebates also trending towards flash sale promotions, month by month giving different categories of spending higher rebate % to entice users to spend more
