not true. most of the main banks will release within 3-5 days. merchant actually only has 5 days to claim the funds

https://www.sc.com/sg/help/general-information/
SC also mentioned in their FAQ, authorisation hold can be max 15days. I don't know where did you get this 5 days information because I have many experiences that tell me 5 days couldn't be right, I had transaction which merchant didn't claim even though its a valid purchase and it take 2 weeks.

There is something wrong with the merchant acquirer then.

Today, everything should settle within a day or two.

We are talking about bugs where the transaction is partially processed so merchant never claim and bank is waiting for merchants to claim, banks will wait up to 15 days for merchants to claim. This is standard. I have recently top up to grab but somehow grab say transaction not successfully and it take 15 days for bank to release this pending transaction, this is standard.

Grab is the culprit here that does not do proper settlement. That’s not the first time Grab did this. If you want your money back sooner, talk to Grab and they will do manual settlement to “unclaim” the money and the other party will receive the money in no time.

it is not a standard. It is just “lazy” or “bad” merchants that don’t perform proper settlement.

Some merchants will tell you they never receive the money and push back to card issuer. Things happen and 15 days is the standard time frame for the hold to laspe. I can't be bothered to push the merchant when I know the hold will be released in 15 days.

Hi, can anyone advise if it is possible to pay / generate QR codes for (1) NTUC Income Insurance premiums (Living Policy) & (2) CPF (eg: MediSave) via Grabpay MC or the new NS55 credits? Also does paying via GrabPay QR code scan or via AXS with Grabpay MC contributes in any way to the monthly "Power Up Your Points Challenge" (in terms of the no of transactions or the amount spend on Grabpay MC) regardless of whether for both merchants above or not ? Or is there any way to get some form of cashback from payment to CPF Board & NTUC Income ? Any hacks / tips & tricks? Many thanks for your kind advice / insights ....

Ridiculous to take up to 48 Calendar days. Merchant voided the transaction 3 mins after initial swipe on the same day. Merchant even called the bank to double confirm that the transaction was not captured. But GRAB still did not return the amount to my GRABPAY card/wallet. Why like that ?????

From 1 August 2022, Debit/Credit card transactions on the Grab app will no longer earn GrabRewards points.

If you switch to paying with your GrabPay Wallet balance via GrabPay or PayLater, you can continue earning up to 2% back in GrabRewards points. You’ll be able to use this balance on the app, online and even at stores. Plus, there are no limits to how many points you can earn.

I don’t think that’s what it is saying… don’t confuse grabpay is grabpay with credit/debit card is credit/debit card VIA grabpay

because grab needs the money to stay afloat. cashflow 101: collect faster, pay slower
