The very people who are driving up the costs of living still can jjww what wanton mee and pasta.
Actually pasta is noodles. They use Italian language to give name and the dish become atas. When you say wanton mee like half Canton half Hokkien it become low ses.

Will wonton mee in hawker increase to $10 after this comments?
After all is still below $20 pasta.
Is still valid and justify.

Think future hawker coffeeshop may need to check the income range of patrons.
So can charge landed , prime ,plus ,standard price each patron need to foot..

Please give them chance, it is already very hard for them to leave their ivory towers and pretend that they care about mere mortals every 5 years, yet still want them to talk in simpler terms?

Grace Fu now says:
"We may be taking a chicken wing from you, but we are giving you a whole chicken"

I think she has moved on from her recent $18 pasta and is now craving for some chicken.

Find me an $18 pasta please. Would gladly like to try it.

Today's dinner at Din Tai Fung damn shiok. $58 spent. Well worth it.
$5 wonton mee is actually ok. If one got problem affording $5 wonton mee but can spend $3 on bubble tea, something is dreadfully wrong.

“When I made the decision to join politics in 2006, pay was not a key factor. Loss of privacy, public scrutiny on myself and my family and loss of personal time were,” Fu had said.

She added that, “The disruption to my career was also an important consideration. I had some ground to believe that my family would not suffer a drastic change in the standard of living even though I experienced a drop in my income. So it is with this recent pay cut.”

always remember this gem from her after the ministerial pay cut lol

some would say there's an indication of being self serving.. not that there's anything wrong with being self serving, right?

She should pay more for her pasta, now resturants are closing faster. How can she still pay $18 dollar for pasta when the price of hawker food has hike 30% or more.

If you expect peasants to pay $5 for wanton mee, grace fu should pay $24 or $30 for pasta

Actually, I am not sure why. Malaysian (specifically southern Johor) income is 1/3, right? Yet they are already paying 20+ to 30+ MYR for pasta. Wonton noodles 8 to 10 MYR. Why can't Singaporeans do so......? These prices won't kill you, as shown in Malaysia.

By paying these amounts, the restaurants can stay alive. And you have places to eat when you want to.
