Like other has mentioned. If you playing at 1080p resolution. Chances are you will be fine.

If you intend to play on higher resolution, you will need to sacrifice other kind of grapphics settings. You might need to turn down a notch or two.

At this rate of games we are going, most AAA 1080p titles will probably take between 2gb-3gb. Some worse optimzed games can take up to 4gb.

oh ok, well basically most game i will be playing will BF, ASC, Shadow of Mandor, etc. as for the resoultuion i will be playing is only 1080 since im not intending to upgrade my monitor.

GTX 970 got problem meh. Rock solid dude. Wont go wrong. If your are referring to the scandal that the rest have mentioned, there is no way to fix it. its an "error" in marketing. Anyway, I would hold off, since polaris coming out soon! Adopt a wait and see approach if possible!

Well I want to wait but den again got new promo upcoming or ongoing would like to buy one and replace my dead gpu asap.

if really mind wait new model appear

Well anyway i dun think i have enough budget to get newer gpu and beside that if they really offer a better budget with better performance den i have to suck thumb for it den T-T

Buy a better graphics card if using higher than 1080p resolution.

well I agree, but still probably just gonna replacement for a dead gpu that's all

Actually, the issue with the scandal is already fixed. Nvidia misrepresented the product and they have owned up. Hardware wise, its permanent unfortunately.

The GTX 970 should run most games at 1440p based on my understanding. The main competitor being the AMD R9 390 8GB, is also a great card to consider.

I know AMD isn't that bad, but im wondering can my system support it?? As for that 8gb vram i think its beyond what i need xD

You intend to play any DX12 games?

Well ofc, but not sure if any dx12 games are my favorite atm :p
And I have recently purchase my Need for Speed 2015 edition...not sure if it will become dx 12...even though system requirement is only dx 11

OK if you play dx12, you are better off with amd cause amd cards are known to be faster than Nvidia ones. If you have seen the AoS benchmark, even a 390x can outpace the mighty 980ti. Its that crazy.

There is no worries to plug in any gpus be it AMD or Nvidia.

There is no harm if you wanna try the 390 390x. See if you are ok to splurge the amount.

But do take note that your power supply should be at least 600w to support the 390 390x.

Also the clearance between the front of the chassis to the back.

Yes it can run most games at 1440p as long as it uses less than 3.5 gb of vram.

But once it hits above 3.5 gb, the fps will drop and become barely playable some certain titles.

So chances are you will not want to set to the max setting, then what is the
point of getting it?

From what I see in reviews, the card performance is decent up to 1440p, but some titles are simply to taxing. The 3.5GB is also a bummer.

GPU can be on my system.

Sorry guys I change my mind on getting GTX 970.

Now I wonder if I should get GTX 960/R7 370/R9 380(with or without X)

Since if i dun want to think of any problem that could occur while playing.

GTX970 3.5g issue is the reason why I went GTX 980. I wish I could have GTX980 Ti but I have limited budget. GTX980 is actually the worst price performance ratio compared to many. Just get the cheapest one if you are on budget if not 980 Ti is way to go now..
