oops haha oh no.... then can u help me describe what u did in the SA? i understand that there could be psychometric test...interview etc. how was it like for

Frankly you just have to be yourself. Be honest about what you really want but there is a fine line between being honest and being brutally honest. Dont divulge too much unnecessary information about yourself. Dont lie too. Cuz thats what the psyche test is about. It can determine your aptitude and character.

For eg. Interview you say you are A then your psyche test evaluates you a B. Clearly you arent being honest and would they hire someone who isnt honest?

Try not to pause too often also as it shows you arent ready for the interview. All the best in your SA bro :)

During Ns checkup ? So i assume you have not enlisted yet ? You can declare if you want to but as long as you are fine it shouldn't be a problem unless the Docs there want to mess with you

Would recommend going for the diploma first imo cause in the long run it will definitely be more helpful. Besides theres no guarantee of direct entry so a plan B would be taking the diploma. Because theres also a large intake of applications and they have a limited number of slots after all

Im afraid i will not be able to finish diploma as i heard from a lot of my friends its quite hard and also im 19 now i’ll definitely need to enlist first right since now im only in nitec 2nd year really education is not my thing but i tried my best and i feel like i could manage in the long run although paywise is low but as long as i work hard i’ll most likely be able to climb up in rank right? thats the only way for me apart from studying.

Option 1
19 year ago (2 years Nitec with average result) -> 21 year ago (2 years Higher Nitec with above average result) -> 24 year old (2 years of NSF + 1 year of estimated waiting time to enlist and start of Poly) -> 27 year (3 years of Poly Diploma). Sign on as SGT(2) at the age of 27 years ago as fresh Poly Diploma holder.

Option 2
Sign on as SGT(1) at the age of 19 year ago as fresh Nitec holder. Estimated promotion to SGT(2) after 3 to 5 years of service at the age of 22 to 24 year old.

So which one is better?

It take sometime (Interpreted that it will take 3 months from your statement accordingly to website) for SPF to process your application.

Once you start your REC training with 1 of the force (SPF/SAF/SCDF), other force will no longer hire you. So once you start REC training with SAF, SPF will no longer hire you.

However when you are BMT with SAF, you still can sign on any vocation (according to your qualification) with Army/Air Force/Navy because you have not POP from BMT.

If you started your vocational training like AIT to become an Infantryman, you no longer can sign on with SAF. However if you are posted to Command School like SCS, you can still sign on almost all Army Specialist vocation or certain Air Force vocation such Air Defence Systems Specialist because you just started your Foundation Term which is also part of career advancement course for these vocations. However if you start your Professional Term as Infantry, you are only left to sign on as Infantry Specialist as this stage.

Since NSF, we cannot chose our own vocation and you still want to sign on SPF, you can only start to apply again around 3 months before you ORD from SAF.

It only mean you apply for SPF job as direct entry sergeant. You still needs to attend interview and sign the employment contract with bond before you are consider 'sign on' as REG. If you did not even call up by SPF to do anything for your job application, your status is as good as nothing had been done and just wait for your enlistment letter with 1 of the force (SPF/SAF/SCDF) or you apply for further studies.

If base on Singapore Police Service Good Service Medal standard (5 Years), 2 years of police national service and 3 years of reserve service could be counted towards the minimum requirement for a PNSMen.

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore_Police_Service_Good_Service_Medal

So I think should be able to get Singapore Police Service Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (10 Years) but needs equivalent of 10 years of NS service. So it should be at least 2 years of police national service and 8 years of reserve service could be counted towards the minimum requirement for a PNSMen.

However, awards are always up to unit recommendation and higher HQ approval.
