Been awhile since I last build. Got the itch to start building kits again after I saw the recently release gold plated Phenex Gundam.

Have not built the Narrative one but I did have a painted HGUC Phenex [from GFT] done:

Anyway, was at HAW and I picked up what I thought was the full-plated Tryon 3 kit.

I didn't do my research, so this was the campaign version and only some parts were plated, the rest were of a special pearl/gloss finish. So not my best build since I wanted to preserve the special plastic look.

I actually like the Tryon 3, even though at first I wasn't into the SRW aspect.

The backpack however blocks the shoulder articulation and the sword is heavy and the kit barely holds it in place. Fun though as a break form regular UC content.

question for airbrushing

hi all guru n pro,

so recently i've gotten a AB, but there's alot to learn and take in, so i seek the advice from u all ah

so i bought Tamiya's Surface Liquid Primer and Lacquer Thinner(87077) to thin it with, to clean the AB after priming do i clean the AB cup with the Lacquer thinner? or is there any other alternative?

And i've bought various Tamiya Acrylic paints (XF series), to wash inbetween colors, i've read that normal water will do? i've also read that ppl uses IPA 70% to clean the acrylic paints after everything is done....

so far am i right?

Hi there. You CAN use lacquer thinner to clean your airbrush, but lacquer thinner isn't very strong as a solvent so it may take some time/scrubbing to get rid of the stains inside your airbrush. You can look for either industrial grade thinners which are cheaper and sold in higher volumes or airbrush cleaners such as the Tamiya one(costs a bomb) or E7 ones. Airbrush cleaners are a lot stronger and they usually melt the paint stains inside your airbrush with a light scrub using a cotton bud.
