tolerance is tight for those snapfitters, if you wanna paint must sand down to cater for the paints.......... make sure to try-fit and plan ahead. Like sanding articulations, lighten paints to cater for the dark washes etc. etc.

I quite lazy 1. I paint it, if colours ok then I happy liao

some stickers I don't even bother to stick or I paint some silly custom scheme :s13:

sometimes i wonder why bandai wanted customers to paint gundams..

the tolerances are so tight that painting it would result in scratches or paint scraping off during assembly/posing...

no ar, if bandai wanted customers to paint gundams then they wont mould it in separate colours alr :s13:

Painting is optional

painting definitely make the kit look better and we can do custom colour schemes :)

you can spray it black, then highlight the centre with navy or german grey..if you wanna have a fading edge effect at the edges, then spray a thin black without going pass the edge( max technique )

ok the 'nubs?' the part where the runners are connected to the parts itself I have nothing to say, because of how the parts are made and connected to the runners, that part will be there.

what i really dont like is sometimes, you can see the place where the injected plastic goes into the piece mould in 2 places so when they "meet" inside the mould, (is it called seam line?) u can see the wavy lines and it's quite annoying.

it's shouting "hello i am injected moulded plastic!!!"

Cant remember what are those called. Those are annoying but inevitable.
(actually those can be prevented, up to bandai though)

anyone knows for ab, what causes uneven paint/finishing, pooling, specks
can see & feel the roughness after drying even though its a gloss paint

prime>preshade>paint(problem here)
strip all the layers, and just ab the paint(problem appeared again)

should I strip the paint and sand it down?

I have the same problem, especially for colors like white.

I think its either the paint haven't dry completely then u did a second layer or paint not mixed well enough, or paint dried before landing on the plastic.

For me it got better after I lowered the psi and reduced the paint flow and moved my airbrush closer to the plastic.

For pooling my guess is you sprayed too long on the same spot of the plastic?

don't think is due to the paint drying before reaching, coz it was kinda watery which may explain the pooling

think I'll try lowering the psi
