Spray paint is better than drybrush...unless your sibei rich can afford a branded airbrush :D

Go to hobby point, and check out the package that they have for ab and the compressor, $200 to $300 plus

No need to be very rich

In comparision, brush $5. Airbrush set $200. Its quite a big difference... both have different effects, but their primary goal is to paint.

Question: what metallic silver spray paint would be nice? Or an alternative colour for painting the inner frame?

Whoa, thats alot of processes. If u dun paint, then no need to prime right? And 4 coats of gloss coat is kinda... Alot.

.........only one full gloss coat, after decal-ing already just spray over the decals to protect it........:s22::s22::s22:

p.s where did you come out with the 4 coats???

imho, it doesn't matter what mode of painting one uses as long as one can produce desirable results.

personal perspective: modeling is not abt getting the most expensive tools, its about the desire to make one's work better and it helps to have a open heart (personally, i concurr with what cleaver bro mentioned abt aikiboy and wolvie bro willingness to learn from their mistakes, act on them and improvements were clearly seen)
kudos to them!

my 2 cents

gloss coat+gloss coat+flat coat+top coat= 4 coats.

isnt flat and top and gloss coat the same thing?

i think u mean spray paint vs hand paint right?
coz drybrushing is a weathering/detailing technique, not really for painting the model

first gloss coat is to gloss prep for wash, but decals is also applied on gloss coat, so after applying decals must spray a coat of paint to protect it, but only around and over the decals, as other parts already glossy from the first gloss coat

flat coat is for after washing, cause some processes like drybrushing is preferably done on matte surfaces.

Yes top coat and other coats also use the same clear paints, its called top coat because its on the top.....:s22:
