It's pretty normal actually

A lot of HK dramas and movies are dubbed in Mandarin to cater for the general Chinese audience not only in China, but in SG, Msia and Taiwan. Loss of original flavour, yes. But they have to be mindful as well. More of a balance. Besides, we now have choices to choose the language we want, so can say all is fair.
