Enjoy the warm weather cos Vietnam national weather center forecast the following week the highest temperature will between 18 - 21°C for Hanoi.

Just returned from Hanoi and Sapa. Sapa is more beautiful around August as I saw my friend's incredible pics on FB. Now is nearing winter and pretty cold in the early morning and at night. Will snow my guide says.
We went on private tour so it was a fairly nice experience. A lot of dishes for each meal and cruise boat to halong bay to ourselves and train cabin for ourselves too.
Oh yes, bought northface coldwear for only usd13...so much cheaper than in Sg!

Which is the best part of your trip? Halong lives up to its reputation?

Yeah, wish I could have spent more time there or taken the overnight cruise there. Very beautiful. Better pics taken there than Sapa where it was foggy in the morning.

every time when someone asks for the list of restaurants, i am very tempted to say "walk around, explore and discover". any restaurant or vendor you try in hanoi or vietnam can easily beat the best vietnamese restaurant you had in singapore.

xoi or sticky rice:

bun cha obama, overrated imho:

another bun cha but better:

Besides the taste, the price is so much cheaper than in Singapore. Usually, when I am back, I will not go to any Vietnamese store anymore

There are equally nice bun cha but must have xe may or xe3 auto

In singapore, there are few decent Vietnamese food stalls...
But due to AVA restrictions, some of the ingredients they put in their dishes cannot be imported into Singapore
