With the EasyAbroad update, Next OS 5.1 is almost the same in its ability to run Android apps as under MicroG with OS 4.2 and EMUI. The following are still not working:

1. SingPass app
2. All the Huawei native apps that require cloud access, these work only with Chinese Huawei ID
3. Pairing of Huawei watch
4. AI photo edit, this seems to need local Chinese Huawei ID as well. Normal photo edits work
Thank you very much for the info, Pynchmail.

Is it correct to say that EasyAbroad provides a virtual Android environment for Android apps to work... something like GBox? If you use apps like bank apps inside it, your info will pass through a third party won't it? Also, are you able to receive push notifications from apps running in it?

EasyAbroad is an Android environment built using Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and MicroG framework to support Android and Google apps. Data will likely pass through EasyAbroad, MicroG and Huawei HMS.

I am able to receive push notifications but its reliability is less consistent than my Android phone.

My advise is not to use bank apps on this OS unless you're rich to get your account hack many times.

Most sought after GMS is google pay, saves so much of hassle but for the time being....I slided a CC between the casing and the phone, see if paywave works

Yes, almost all the apps sg use is via EasyAbroad.

You can put all the unneeded apps into a folder and make it the smallest size to not take up space on the home screen.

Wait till Huawei launches HarmonyOS NEXT globally and hopefully by then, local bank decides to add support for Huawei Wallet.
Visa and Mastercard is is American. Don't think they will allow unless something changes or they can make it work through a middle ware/ company.
