Head/earphones Recommendations Thread

I love the a Jay three.
However, in the last 1 year, I've change at least twice.
Although , sounds seems great for an in-ear ear phones, but durability ? shesshh.

is there's one that is of similar budget , slightly on par in terms of durability , and the most important : tangle free cables cord ?

any suggestions people ?
Slightly above budget of a Jay 3 is also open for suggestion.

Hi there, you can consider the Fischer Audio Consonance. Its cable is fabric covered which helps slightly in preventing tangle. Durability will depend on how the earphone are bring used so it is rather hard to judge how durable they are. The Consonance comes with a plastic storage case to keep the earphones which can be use to protect the earphones while keeping them, as from what I recall the A-Jays 3 do comes with a case but it is a very tight fit which is not very ideal.

If you're looking for something that can block out most ambient noises the Bose IE2 may not be a good choice as it is not the ear canal type. The UE400 has higher clarity than the Consonance which is well known for its stronger bass. Personally I would like the sound of the Consonance for rock and metal genre songs, whereas I'll prefer the UE400 for acoustics and vocals.

Yes we have the black one at both outlets now. The usual price for them $88, currently there's a promotion @ $78. Warranty is one year local by the distributor.

You might want to consider the Logitech G230, it is a PC headset, you can use an adaptor to allow the mic to be use with a phone.If you do not need something with a mic you can give the JVC S44X a try.

Can consider the Fischer Audio Consonance and the UE350. If you would want more bassy sound the Consonance gives a heavier bass than the UE350.

You can consider the Audio Technica CKS77X, it should give you decent vocal with punchy bass as found by most.

With that kind of budget, I suggest you audition the Senn HD800, LCD3/2, Fostex TH900/600, Beyer T1, ATH 3000Anv, etc
Choose the one that give you the most satisfaction..
We also don't know what type of music you listen and what will be your source

From there, we try to find the amp, DAC, source that bring out the best synergy or can make the headphone sings....

No matter what amp, DAC, source, accessory, etc you change, you won't be able to make an HD800 to sound like an LCD3

hmm, I just happened to bought the amp with all the hype. that aside, I listen to music like norah jones, john mayer, guns and roses, tommy emmanuel, etc.

I am quite fixed on the LCD3 currently though.

I'm sure the LCD3 will pair well with Norah Jones, John Mayer, type of songs.
Not sure about GnR though.
As much as I like the LCD3, I can't wear it pass the half-hour mark due to the clamping force and weight.
