Any suggestions on which IEM I should get?

You can give a try on the Westone W20. Tried them for awhile and find that they got a good mix of bass and clarity at the price range. Another one you can consider is the JVC FXZ200 if you would prefer something that is worn straight down the ears rather than over ears.

You can consider the Sennheiser Momentum. Most find that it has a smooth and warm signature that is easy on the ears. Alternatively you can compare it with the V-Moda M100 and the KEF M500. They all comes with the mic and remote for iOS devices so you can use them to communicate with ease while commuting.

Not necessary Razer are designed for FPS gaming, as most had find that they are generous in the bass area, playing FPS with them sounds more engaging as explosions would sound better. That would also make playing games like GW2 more engaging like when fighting boss or when there are very engaging in game music. And from most of the customers who we had asked before, they would find that gaming headsets tend to have heavier bass.
If you're looking for Dolby surround with the headset, you can consider the Logitech G430. It comes with a USB soundcard which will enable Dolby surround on the headset. Comfort-wise it is pretty good as it is lightweight and doesn't have over-powering clamping force.

Thanks for the recommendation! I also have chanced upon reading some headphones like akg451,701 or even UE9000.. How does these headphones measured up against the ones you have mentioned? I'm pretty new to headphones thus kinda clueless.

Personally found that the K451 have a smaller presence and a little too dry to my liking. The K701 is an discontinued model, but it is an open can so it is not suitable for commuting use. The UE9000 is a bluetooth noise cancelling headphones and from my comparison I found its sound too colored.

I wonder other than HMV does stereo carry the SMS audio headphones too? I tested abit today at HMV I like the comfort and sound of the headsets and @270 is close to my ultrasone but the comfortability of it beats my ultrasone

You can consider the Audio Technica CKS99i, the Monster DNA In-ear and the KEF M200. Personally found their bass quite good. The KEF M200 might be a little hard to get a good fitting but once you get the fitting alright the sound is really nice and warm.

Considering I've already tried out a few sets (TDK BA200, Shure SE215, Audio-Technica M50s/LE, Sennheiser Momentum) and I like their balance of clarity and bass, would you recommend any other sets?

TDK BA200: I like the bass in it.
Shure SE215: Feels a bit uncomfortable, but I like the bass.
Audio-Technica M50s/LE: Performs well IMHO but it's too big to rest comfortably and not very portable.
Sennheiser Momentum: Kenna poisoned by the Momentum but it's gonna forever be out of my price range @_@ What I really liked in the Momentum was that the track "The Heart of a Champion" that I used to try the Momentum out really had the "whump" around 0:02.

As you can probably tell I'm not really that well-versed in the lingo here (close-to-total newbie here) so please tahan a bit ><

Other requirements (if any): Tight bass, crisp high strings and high hat and cymbal with clarity. Clear and crisp mid vocal.
Budget (in figures): $200-250 will increase if need be.

Hi guys, I have been using my UE superfi 5 for closed to 4 years so it's nicely burn in. Recently accidentally pull the cable and now it's time to change. Sighz...
For those who used or using the old UE superfi series will know that the sound quality was much better than the current UE. It was such a disappointment when I try out the new series.

I have tried s4i, but the bass was not there. It's not tight. The high is alright. Vsonic gr07 base edition was good in terms of bass was tight, strings was clear but the vocal was soft. The volume was low as compare to my old superfi 5. Intermittently, my old superfi5 is still usable, brought it along to compare.

Now I am stuck wondering if with that budget will I be able to find a similar or better replacement.

Can someone share ur view please.

Maybe you can give the Sennheiser Momentum On-ear a try. Personally find it to have a better presentation than the original Momentum. As for the IEMs part those are the popular choices among the price range.

Maybe you would like to give the Westone UM Pro 10 and the JVC FX-T90 a try. Not sure about you but personally will find the FXT90 somewhat similar to the UE in certain areas. It is well-liked by some of our colleagues who had the Superfi 5.
