just bought the beoplay h5. love it a lot except the charging cube cable is too long for portability as i frequently fly. took 1hr to modify the cube by shorten the cable to 9inch length.

Wow that's a cool mod! I got a loan unit from B&O and lent to my wife who loved it so much that after I returned the loan unit, I bought one for her. Easily the sweetest-looking headset. Even if the sound is not that perfect, it looks nice.

Crystal treble, balanced bass.

Instead of solely aiming for wireless gear, you can just get a bluetooth/wireless adapter and still be able to use all wired phones.

- Your rig: Iphone 5s/6s
- What type of usage: Music
- File format used in your source: Mp3/Spotify
- Genre of music you listen to: EDM & R&B/Hip-Hop
- Headphone / earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements:Used to own a pair of Sennheiser CX300ii Precision Enhanced Bass. Pardon as I am not considered a true audiophile and can't tell the drivers/spec for this model. But what I like about this model is that it can hit the right "warm" sounds from the EDM music especially those with vocal parts and for R&B/Hip-Hop songs it has the right amount of bass (not too overpowering) but strong enough.

I'm looking for similar earpiece in that category and has led me to Sony XB70AP and Sony XBA 1A1P, Shure SE215.

SE215 - No go. The bass was totally hitting below what I wanted.

XB70AP - Warm yes, but bass over-powering.

XBA 1A1P - Current choice

I have yet to head down to Stereo, but noted they don't seem to carry Sony from their online store so Im worried I can't compare the XBA 1A1P model with those that is recommended and no one seems to have reviewed XBA 1A1P from the last 5 page.

Any bros care to help?
- Budget: $100-200

I think the audio technica M50x is slightly above your budget (low $200s), you might be able to get it at a good price during Comex since audio technica will have a booth there.

My gf is using it now straight from her smartphone, although at home she's using it with an O2+ODAC.

I tried it recently again straight out from my DPX1, sounds damn good for the price.

Do u have any headset in mind?:) can't seem to decide

I don't have alot of experience with bluetooth gear, but I have a pair of Brainwavz BLU-100 which is very cheap and sounds very good for its price, even compared against wired earphones that cost more.

The best wireless headphones I've listened to is the Pendulumics S1.

As for bluetooth adapters, I know Noble Audio sells one for US$99 but I have not personally tried it.

- What type of usage - music only
- File format used in your source- mp3
- Genre of music you listen to - electronic
- Headphone / earphone type - iem
- Other requirements (if any) - nil, dont need mic
- Budget (in figures) 50-100

Used to own a pair of westone 1's but one side uplorry.
If any reference, also using a pair of AIAIAI TMA-2 DJ headphones and rly like the quality. its suppose to be a dark pair i think. Any recommendations?

the KZ iems look really tempting at the price point and with all the good reviews though. ZST looks good but unproven vs ZS3.

Your rig : Audioquest Dragonfly Black, Iphone 5s ( too lazy to buy adapter :s13: )
- What type of usage : music
- File format used in your source : mp3
- Genre of music you listen to : no specific genre
- Headphone / earphone type : Iem
- Budget (in figures) : max $225 ish

Extra info :
Bought an ath msr7 3 weeks ago, damn I love the neutrality of the sound and the sound seperation, but I just can't deal with the clamping force ( even after 3 weeks of stretching it overnight on random objects ), so I figure'd I go back to iems. (looking for one with the same degree of clarity hopefully )

1 week into using the H5. must say the audio quality is much much better after running in the drivers. Even though its BT wireless, its quality is very much better than all the wired earphones i owned. The clarity is second to none. As for bass, i also did a modification over the past 1 week on the silicon earbud. Lots of trial and errors for comfort and fitting and the lows are sounding much tighter than original. Man this little beast sure can perform. :)
