yea, since u are using portable dac, no purpose using bluetooth since the sound quality will drop. best is connect wired to the dac then to your phone.
if the phone and dac connects using lossless codec, then no drop in sound quality.

This is something i wanna learn..
As i usually stream my music from spotify. I only see the setting as audio quality medium, high, very high.

i guess these are not anywhere near lossless codec? i cant see their format. unsure if its mp3 or flac.
How / where can i get lossless codec music?

spotify is not using lossless codec. normally use aac or ogg at 96kbps to 320 kbps.

tidal has option for lossless streaming.

Thanks for the intro.. Hmm.. free 1st month.. I go test it out.. Tonite go download and try.. haha
not many people can tell difference between aac 320 kbps and lossless audio. if you are already paying for spotify premium, and

if you are one of them, then can save money.

Apple Music also loseless can try also. But i don’t really like because they translate Chinese song title to english. Sure blur 1

As for the lossy and loseless, very hard to say. If ur lossy music is 320kb type, then hard to differentiate unless u using good dac and headphone. Dun think u also go listen to the songs 5 times lossy and 5 times lossless to compare also lol.

But of course if u want a difference, have one. The cost difference also big difference lol

Oh, i never tried the others cuz i subscribe to apple music. Cheaper to subscribe from singtel instead of apple music itself.

You can try apple music anyway cuz got free trial also haha.

I am trying to do some research to a new iem setup. Would like to hear some feedback from you guys.

Currently using my Westone W20 with UTWS5 or if I am home I use BTR5.

I am not exactly looking for an upgrade, more like something to maintain my current setup.

My budget:

Max:
Moondrop Variations
Westone Pro X30

Mid:
Moondrop KATO
Westone Pro X10

Low:
Moondrop Aria SE
Moondrop Aria 2
Audio Technica E40

I am also looking at Moondrop EVO because I find it aesthetically more pretty than UTWS5. Searching around reddit, there are mixed feedback. Want to hear what you guys have to say.

Lastly, any difference between BTR5 vs BTR15, the newer version? Thanks guys.

recommend to demo at headphone store

reason being, we have different shape ears, for IEM, getting the right seal makes all the difference

personally have bought expensive TWS, but ended up not using, due to the shell/case being too big for my ears

btw, which version of the UTWS5 are you using, mmcx or 0.78mm 2-pin? that will help limit your choices accordingly

I know the convenience of TWS.

I haven't tried a TWS that sounded close to my W20 at all. Or perhaps I am just too used to W20 signature.

My space travel is around for abuse and convenience while my W20 is for enjoying music.
