We have the K3003 but not the ToGo 334. You can try the K3003 at both stores

Would like to ask for recommendations!

- Your rig: S3 or Ipod Classic (Ampless)
- What type of usage: 80% music, 20% movies
- File format used in your source: MP3 320kbps
- Genre of music you listen to: quite diverse but mostly mainstream stuff like maroon5
- Headphone / earphone type:closed headphones
- Other requirements: currently using futuresonics atrios, so I would prefer a headphone closer to the sound signature but with wider soundstage and better instrumental separation. tried the grados sr80 and loved it! is there something close but with closed back
- Budget (in figures): 200-300!

The AKG K550 is slightly above $300 but do try it out too =)

You can also try the audio-technica Pro 700 MK2

I would recommend the sennheiser hd 25. Though retail is slightly higher than your budget. You can order it online and you can even get it below $300. no worries about warranties as i'm quite sure sennheiser accepts international warranties.

interesting but atrios and grados have like super different sound signatures. For something close to $250 i would recommend the Audio technica M50 and Es7. M50 for a more analytical/balanced sound. Es7 for a more fun sound.

HD25 is not circumaural...
I think FA003/HM5 is a very good choice if you want smoothness and detail, but can tolerate relatively weak bass.
Or might just wanna wait a while since UE6000, M-100 and MDR-1 seems promising.

Isn't ue6000 the one with noise cancelling? If it is then I wouldn't put my hopes up. M100 looks good.

What's the mdr 1 though. Never liked nc headphone. Haven't come across one that has good sound. Maybe this would change my impression on noise cancelling headphones.

Btw thanks for pointing out the circiumaural part. Guessed I overlooked it.

I had an eye on the M-100, but some first impressions say that the sig is a bit u-shaped, but I prefer a slightly darker sound

Ue6000 has noise canceling but some ppl say it is pretty good with the non noise cancelling mode. MDR-1R is non nc. Looks very comfortable. All of those, plus the M100 should be coming to Stereo soon.

I would consider Ultrasones as well but they are slightly heavy.

Meanwhile you should try FA003/HM5.

Smooth ar. Not sure what you mean by smooth exactly. But if you're looking for musicality or warmth. Then nope it's not. The Sony mdr7506 is a balanced and thin headphone in terms of sound


If u prefer coloured sound. Can try the audio tech esw9. Sexiest sound I've heard in any headphone ever.

I'm currently using a UE 400vi which the connector is giving up.
The sound quality is not too bad, but it is very difficult to drive as my devices are almost always at full volume in order to be heard in public area.

I do have poweramp for android installed on my devices for equalizer settings.

Preferably looking for a ear piece that is warmth with good clarity.

For $100+, you can look at the audio-technica CKM500is because there is a analog volume control which would work =)

Another model to consider is the UE400vm if you like the sound already, the vm version comes with the analog volume control too =)
