Can try beyerdynamic DTX501p and also the Creative Aurvana Live. =)

I have been looking into a few headphones.

How does the ATH-AD500 compare to those 2 above? Don't mind paying more if there's huge difference in the SQ.

Last question, do I really need a amp to drive the AD500? Please pardon my noobness.

Sunrise Xcape IE is quite impressed but kinda forget the sound signature.

Quite warm sounding on the Xcape as well, DTX101iE is more sparkly on the frequency range =)

Ic, I think got to try it as I dun really understand. But is both noise cancellation ?

We no longer have the Xcape but have the DTX101iE. =)

Its noise isolating not cancelling. =) Noise cancelling are the ones that help block off engine noise which regular noise isolating earphones/headphones cannot really block out

I've been using the Sony MDR-570LP for almost 2 years now, and it's starting to fail on me. I like the bass on it but I was thinking it needed more clarity and a little more power.

If power's also an issue regarding the quality of audio, I'm also open to looking for a portable amplifier. (I must admit though that I am a complete greenhorn.) Looking for it to be affordable and bang-for-buck.

For iem can try gr07, tdk ba200, brainwavz B2. These are slightly over $200. But very worth it imo.
