Duno anything abt v2, but sm3 sounds closer to westone 4 than their other iems, with less treble and slightly more forward mids. Some ppl will like it, but it doen't really stand out to ppl who are relatively new in this, "boring" sound sig so to speak.

Um3x is just typical westone warm sound sig.

Think i'll have to head down to jaben some day to try the sm3v2.. hope it has what is missing in the westone um3x. The problem is I don't really know what is missing :s13: well if it is detailed and clear it won't be boring for me. More of an eye (or ear) opener! :D

For instrumentals, similar except the bass part, no need too much, but is still required to be sufficient, otherwise the drums sound like very thin.

I usually use this song among others to test if the IEM suits me as a whole.

Mid-centric IEMs will make the climax portions very unbearable, whereas lack of bass or treble will make the song sound boring throughout. The ones with the sound sig i suggested, will make it sound very nice.

I lost my Tridents while I was overseas so probably have to pick up a new set of IEMs..

Waiting for people to reco.

Your rig - Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Using PowerAMP)
- What type of usage - Music
- File format used in your source - Usually MP3
- Genre of music you listen to - Kpop/Instrumentals.
- Headphone / earphone type - IEM Earphone
- Other requirements (if any) -
- Budget - Between $100 to $150

I don't want something with heavy bass. Mid bass is fine for me, Clarity is more important.

Currently I am considering a shure se 110 going @ $80 from a friend.

must well jump straight to sub$200 iems, won't regret one:)

For me it's missing bass extension and too warm in some tracks.
Wished the mids were a little backwards xD.
Sometimes i just feel the piano in the track is inside my head.. not beside me LOL. it's just so so close.. that i would probably miss out without focus at all.

Ya I considering just taking the plunge and go for se 215.

Just listened to the track.

Hmm, if u can eq well go for BA200 (Technical ability is quite high).

If not i guess se215 is the best choice, if u find it too muddy means gr07 mk2 already.

For this type of tracks i think u need mids> bass> highs to enjoy..

But personally i think laid back mids is definite no for KPOP lol.. especially those girl group ballad tracks.
Their vocals already sound thin enough..
My source files are in flac so might be diff.

Depends on the company also.. normally SM tracks have quite bright highs.

Anyway non of them will be perfect for kpop haha, seriously :).
If u ask me i will go for BA200 and EQ the bass up properly.

His budget of 100-150 is already sub200 ma :D

Anyway now got price drop. ehub t3 now selling normal se215 for $179. Blue special edition is $199. This is before 7% gst absorb + 10% discount. Nett would be about $150 and $166 respectively. Wonder how much stereo is selling?

I think steero is still going at 21x for special ed.

My purchase date is still in june, now is to scout the ground first and determine ahead which one I want to buy in advance then camp for good deals..

Probably will have a lack of time. Most likely select a few tracks, go there and listen at one shot and pick the best.

Now narrow down which one to listen to first.
