Is there a need to call nowadays, most of time i will just leave them an email to call back. So far so good.

Well, if you received an sms alert on your credit card for a transaction not done by you and would like to report to the bank that your card had been compromised.... Would you call and try to get hold of someone immediately or would you leave an email for them to call back? If it the latter than i don't know whether to applaud you for your patience or be disgusted with your complacency.

Wah need to be so serious or not. Of course for such urgent matter, i will call. But such incidents are rare. I have assumed the earlier poster have called a lot of time to derive the waiting time stated.

Well, the fraudulent txn incident happened to me so the 30 -40mins wait for someone to pick up my call in a matter really diminished OCBC's standing in my book. And i'm not the only one, it's common knowledge in the money mind forum pertaining to OCBC's poor call center customer service standards. 30-40mins waiting time is like OCBC's SOP already.

It's not an issue whether how frequent serious incidents could occur. One of the critical evaluation criteria for any organisation is benchmarking against competition. OCBC failed terribly on this end, if 90% of the banks in Singapore can pick up service center call within 15mins, so why can't they?

30-40mins sop?! That's really jialat. To be frank, i never called ocbc hotline before. I seek cc waiver or cancellation via IB. Only they call me up.

Well, it will be a like a repeat of OCBC cc vs DBS ccs.

Nothing against OCBC, been a costumer for decades same like DBS but my impression of their marketing & promotions is always very aggressive for a while (in fact sometimes too aggressive until attract abusers) but cut back too fast until it leaves a bitter aftertaste in its loyal customers.

DBS on the otherhand usually demonstrates a bit more strategic planning.... they are usually slower into the game, grow the product organically, alternating between periods of high and low marketing investment. DBS's product offerings in contrast "live a bit longer".

All else being equal, i will always go with DBS. Customer service of DBS >>>> OCBC. Try calling OCBC hotline, and be prepared to wait 30-40mins before you get a human being.
It's more of cut cost measures, and more often than not, one cut the other follows

Was there an option to select reporting a fraudulent transaction?
If so, then it should be faster?
