Hi meinteel,

If you invest $200, the fee applicable is 0.3% (or $0.60 in this case) or minimum $5, whichever is higher. Once the promotion ends, the applicable fee will be $5. The amount deducted will be $200, of which $5 will be the transaction fee, and the remaining $195 will be invested into your selected share counter.

When you purchase shares through a broker, you make a one-time lump sum investment, and have to give instructions to your broker each time you want to make a purchase. For most brokers, the minimum brokerage you pay each time is $25 per trade. Through OCBC BCIP, you invest a fixed amount regularly regardless of market conditions to achieve dollar cost averaging over time. This disciplined approach of investing reduces the uncertainty and emotions of market timing.

Thanks for the reply.

erm.. how about when the company issue bonus share e.g. every 10 lots for 1 at $xx or stock split, how's the procedure like? cox only dividend was mentioned in the FAQ.

do we get the full dividend entitlement or will there be a service fee upon crediting into our account?

will the dividend be credited on the same day as ordinary shareholders?

Thanks in advance Ocbc!

Hi chyn_no,

Thanks for your query. You will be entitled to corporate actions under BCIP, where you will be allocated the dividends, or quantity of shares/units of the share or ETF rounded down to the nearest whole number, on a pro rata basis based on your holdings under BCIP. There is no difference in corporate action entitlement compared to purchasing shares through regular brokers. Dividends will be credited on the same day as ordinary shareholders, and there is no additional handling fees. Hope this clarifies.

Hi "OCBC Bank", I from EDMW, why switch place ah???:s22: In EDMW, you get more responds.
And more silly questions...They are better off here since they are supposed to represent OCBC bank. Anyway, they didn't switch place. It has always been around here. There are more serious questions here.

Hi OCBC,

How to hedge against interest rate hike using your different home mortgage loan packages if view is rate increment in SIBOR and SOR in 2015? Is it possible to use variable loan from 2013 to 2015 first, then fixed loan from 2015 onwards? For fixed loan, what is the longest lock in period?

Assuming loan amount is $500k for repayment period 25 years, no TDSR issue.

Thank you.

After the promotion period, the fee is only $5 regardless the amount invested? So for $1000, 995 will be invested?

The fee is $5 or 0.3% per counter whichever is higher..the promotion is till December which they waived the $5 minimum and just charge you 0.3%..

After the promotion period, if your investment per counter per month is $1666.66 and below you will be charged $5..above that is 0.3%...So if you invest $1700 a counter after December, the fee is $5.10..

Hi Futureskid,

Yes, you can apply for a variable rate package from 2013 to 2015 first, then re-price to a fixed rate from 2015 onwards. Do check with your bank for any penalties prior to re-pricing. The lock in period for a fixed rate package varies from bank to bank. OCBC is pleased to offer a fixed rate package with 2 years lock in period, which allows you to reconsider your package after 2 years.

Hi highsulphur,
The fees that apply after the promotion period will be 0.3% or minimum $5 per counter per transaction, whichever is higher. For a $1000 monthly investment, 0.3% works out to be $3, therefore the higher amount of $5 applies in this case, and $995 will be invested.
In comparison, if the monthly investment amount was $2000, then 0.3% works out to be $6, and this will be the fee applicable as it is higher than the minimum of $5, and $1994 will be invested. Hope this helps!

Hi Whisper,

You just need to tap on any NETS FlashPay reader and it will auto top-up $50 which will be charged to your Frank Credit Card. You also don’t have to worry when there’s insufficient balance, the auto-top up will be triggered once you tap on any reader.
