just do the azure certification path on your own time... if can claim company cost best... start with azure fundamentals... then from your current role can progress to azure administrator associate... then to architect expert... it will still be cheaper than a 6k course...

I also thought of this but does companies will hire people self certified without experience ? Sg only want experienced and no training new hires

the course don't give you experience either... employers only care for 2 things... certification and experience... you can get the certs yourself... for experience you'll need to find a way otherwise you do your own labs and fake it till you make it...

No guarantee job placement but there are some sort of support/help to get jobs base on the description
Also the course need to be shortlisted and pass interviews to enrol

I dont mind starting from junior position
Currently is in house IT(IT engineer title)that do all every dirty to clean task like my monitor cannot on(not event plugged) and no life always get calls during weekends/annual leave/even sick also tio disturb and get complained at for not working
Like that you still want to sink deeper into IT?

If you have infra background then it will be easier to learn. I started out as IT support like you, and moved up to sysadmin/systems engineer/network engineer. I have moved into devops engineer/cloud engineer years ago.

I did not attend any courses, everything is learn on job and owning a homelab for learning while outside of work.

Thanks i will look at docker. Cloud admin has similar scope as cloud engineers
Do i need to learn terraform
Terraform is only useful for GCC (in the govt sector) or cloud engineer roles or dev ops.
There is no cloud administrator roles in sg, all the junior cloud engineer roles have shifted overseas.

Do the basic azure foundational certification first to see if you are up for cloud career path cause there are going to be other certifications to acquire along the way like cka, redhat, CompTIA.

Scripting wise, python + bash is the basic combo.
As you clear both then consider Go or java as both are likely applicable for dev ops.

Or can wait for the new batch of TFIP to open, cause most likely be ntuc as the training provider.
The challenge is that attachment at the bank is entirely up to your luck.
My batch only 9/25 converted to perm.

no harm trying, but 6k sibei expensive for entry level, got free resources out there of better quality

even if study until professional/specialty cert also hard to put knowledge to use

also depends on the company you eventually work for, do they even have the scale of operations to require that expertise anot?

another thing is whether they allow you to have unrestricted access without advanced knowledge so end up limited dead end job just add/remove users and print monthly report most likely
