Staying at Chinatown Hotel. It's 800m away from Hua Lamphong MRT according to google maps. You think drivers will on meter if travelling to MBK / Chitlom area? Other than that I think will be covering on foot.

you go read yr hotel booking TNC ba. some allow to cancel before certain period. The traffic really very jialat one at night and taxi going there hardly can find on meter one. The nearest MRT u have to walk maybe ten to fifteen mins like what dede said.

Walked the chinatown route before. Whatever savings you got from the hotel will be burned by transport unless you can master the bus system or willing to brave the motorcycle taxi. Even worse if you go shopping and forgot to keep change for transport from train to hotel. The nearest malls are like residential shopping centres with their ntuc and mostly cloth shops.

From your itinerary, you will be spending 40+ baht per trip up and down on the bts like no tomorrow and it will all add up. DM to Yaowarat taxi direct will be quite expensive. In a way, its like from changi airport to boon lay.

Depends what time you reach landside. if you travel alone without huge luggage, what i suggest is take the airport buses to Mo Chit or Central Bangkok. Head across the elevated pedestrian walkway out to the main road in front of the airport and get bus 29, 49 or 59 headed in the direction of the city. The benefit of these buses is that they run 24/7. There is also an express A1 bus to Mo Chit BTS. Problem is the BTS runs till around 11.30pm everyday.

Seems like you've got some bad experiences with yaowarat. Im travelling with my family(4 pax) should be just nice for 1 cab. I think it be inconvenient if take public transport from DMK.. Anyway ill discuss with them to change hotel. Which hotels do you usually stay or recommend? thank you!

It's your baht. Can try Pathumwan Princess which I recall is just on top of MBK mall and connected to National Stadium BTS. More budget would be Lub.D which is directly opposite National Stadium BTS as well. They are also about 5-10min walk to Siam Discovery and Siam Center which are massive malls by themselves. Siam Paragon is just beside them.
