As a thinkpad user myself i would say go for the thinkpad. i have to bring my w500 to school everyday for 2 years and sure it might be heavy but what it has been to me make it very worth all the hassle. Once i had a a key plucked from my keyboard (due to my ichy fingers) and i called the thinkpad support hotline. the next day 9am, they came to my house and replaced my board no questions asked. They even help me when they noticed while service-ing that my battery had losen its carrying charge and replaced my battery too again without any cost.

Now i use a macbook for school for the past 4 months and already problems like the battery leaking has occured. Now my thinkpad has been going strong for 3 years and if you want reliability just get the thinkpad bro.

Btw, between the thinkpad and ideapad there is a huge difference. The thinkpad has a much better overall build, a better keyboard, MUCH better service and for professional graphic use, a much better gtx card too.

Thanks! And i'm just glad that Lenovo realised how BIG the THINKPAD brand is with the corporate world and I really hope that future ideapad will have some THINKPAD designs and technology =D

FYI the service between macbook & macbook pro & Macpro is different too...
Do take note that the warranty coverage in APP for macbook, MBP & macpro are different.
Past experience working in a Video production company made me understood that...
If your macbook has issues and need repairs, you will need to bring down to one of the service centers. Whereas for MBP & Macpro, they will send someone down to pick it up from you...
Right now... I am not sure if it's still the same... :s8:

Yea laptop is to fit your needs . I think Lenovo ideapad y460p is cheap and most worth to buy . I can save money to buy other things such as razor keyboard and mouse . Lenova also have the graphic card that is class 2 enough for me to play my game . However the processsor is a little slower 2ghz . But turbo boost can boost up to 2.8. Many say it is automatic but i would love it to be Manuel . Can we check that whether the machine is running on how many GHz . Or is there a method to change manually to using the higher processor rate . Come on IT pros . Show me what you got . Hardware zone no IT pros ? I called the Lenovo they have no idea how to change . No one in the world know how ? Lmao .

Whoa pardon me for saying you must be a real pc noob:) The point of turbo boost is to make ur processor work faster(automatically) when more programs are running and slower when less or no programs are running and u want it manual? If u wanna make the base clock speed faster u got to overclock the cpu by tweaking in bios.Besides i5 is more than enough to run even Crysis 2 smoothly ,i dun even know for what ,why are u complaining in the 1st place:s8:

Changing graphic card

Well personally I have the same problem as the asker. I had a hard time choosing between the Fujitsu Lifebook SH761B and the Lenovo ThinkPad W510. I want the portability of the Fujitsu Lifebook but I also need the graphic capability. So is it possible that I change my Fujitsu Lifebook with a better graphic card. If so, any graphic cards for recommendation? Thank you.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH LENOVO

I bought my children a brand new LENOVO notebook from the June 2014 PC show for their school work.

Fresh out of the box, the notebook turn faulty the next day. It ‘FROZE’ and became unresponsive. The service centre refused our request for a replacement. After almost a week at the service centre, we were told that the electronic board of the keyboard is faulty and they have replaced a new board. We were assured that they have done ‘thorough’ investigations and the notebook is okay.

The second day after we brought it home, we were shocked to face the same issue again. We called the service centre and was told to bring it down AGAIN!!! After five working days at the service centre, we did not hear from them at all. When we finally called, we were told that the motherboard of the notebook is faulty. However, the repair cannot be done because they do not have the part. We were told to wait for another week or two. We requested for a replacement ASAP because our children need it for their school work. We were told that its IMPOSSIBLE.

WE WILL NEVER BUY A LENOVO AGAIN!!!!!

On the other hand, I have personally used 2 Fujitsu laptops and they are very good. The best of all laptop brands that I have used. The only drawback is that its more expensive. I think its worth paying after this terrible experience!
