Help on LTVP Application

Hi Guys,

I have a situation here. Hope that I could get some answers or ways to figure out on the LTVP application. We will get register on 27th of Sep this year.

Myself:

Born in SG Chinese
Been working and contributing CPF for more than 15 years

MY spouse to be:

China
Working in SG for 5 years. But she will get retrenched at end of Sep this year.
She is paying tax as well.


I have applied the pre assessment LTVP last week. Still pending for approval.

Question:
1) When Her spass gets cancelled on 30th Sep, will she automatically be on social visit pass for 30 days? And can I extend the pass for her?

2) Will there be possibility that the LTVP be approved before the dateline that she has to fly back?

3) Any ways to proceed so that I can proceed with the LTVP application? Meet MP or go to ICA directly to ask for directions?

LTVP application is only valid for spouse.
AKA couple must be married/ROM.

LTVP pre-assessment will take abt 2-4wks.

Approval for LTVP will take up to 6wks.
While pending approval, you can extend the short term pass.
That was what i did for my spouse previously.

Regarding point 1, I'm not too sure. Wait for the experts to appear and comment.

Thanks, I will get registered on 27th Sep and then apply LTVP. On average, how long will it get approved? And will meeting with the MP help to shorten the process?

Hi, not too sure what is the avg.
That time, my spouse LTVP was approved in principle within 2wks, pending medical check up.

There are 2 schools of thoughts.
Some are advocating approaching MP, some say it will not help. Based on what I had read through the various threads.
To be frank, I doubt anyone is crystal clear on how ICA work.


Just sharing.
When I was submitting doc for PR application, I overheard the next counter staff telling the applicant: "Don't bother giving me any MP, minister letter. I will not accept it. I just take what is required."


Lastly, I would suggest to check with ICA that when yr gf spass is cancelled, what will be the type of visit pass she can be eligible for so that she can still consider to stay here.

There is a thread for forumer with PRC wife with plenty of info there.
I had read through all pages previously.

For point 1: can i just confirm on whether she is on WP, SP or EP? For SP and Ep holders, upon pass cancellation by company, u will be granted 30 days social visit pass from the date of cancellation (provided that u are still in singapore). U could extend the pass for another 30-60 days, subject to approval by ICA upon expiry. THe sponsorship of the social visit pass will be under your responsibility. Please note that you would be required to provide justification for he request of visa extension. Hths

Yes, extension should preferbly be made 2 wks before expiry. And so long reason is just, i believe ica will accept.

My pre-assessment 6 weeks still pending. Don't border just go ROM and apply LTVP

Ltvp usually ica more chin chai with mp letter but once u go into pr application, ica won't be bothered by any mp letter..

My wife just got her ltvp approved in principle, would like to ask which GP clinic can process the medical report faster beside Ansari family clinic? If possible western singapore, and the cost for the chest xray and hiv blood test as request by ica.

2-3 days. Normally x Ray + blood + urine tests very hard to be same day

Xray is fast, actual day.

Urine blood test takes 1 2 days due to delivery and testing in lab.

When it comes to ICA. Find MP also no use one.

MP only good for HDB and parking issues
