Just did a health check and cholesterol numbers are:
- Total Cholesterol: 252 mg/dL
- HDL Cholesterol: 51 mg/dL
- LDL Cholesterol: 182 mg/dL
- TC/HDL Ratio: 4.95
- Triglycerides: 95 mg/dL

Need to start taking meds? Any other advice?
How old are you?
Do you have underlying conditions or family history of cardiovascular diseases?
The answer to the 2 above questions will help your doctor to decide if you need to start statin.

First of all, you need to boost your soluble fibre intake and cut (really cut) your saturated fat intake, keeping it to below 10g per day.

Exercise to increase your HDL
Increase soluble fibre (I mean a lot) and reduce sat fat (keep below 10g a day) to lower LDL

Avoid sugar.
Read ingredients list and don buy food and beverages that use hydrogenated oil, shortening and margarine.

Do not order drink that use milk power like bubble tea (mostly chemically processed dairy). Don eat cream / dressing from bread, sandwiches salad and burgers. Avoid pastries , snacks and processed food too.

Everyday exercise and control Ur diet for 3 months diligently. Eat oats. U would see huge reduction in Ur bag cholesterol

need to avoid palm oil also.

Eat oats. It is the miracle food. Actually very yummy too. Doctor will 100% ask you to take drugs.

Yes dr definitely will. Don trust dr that high cholesterol is generic lor. As long as one choose what to eat , eat wisely and carefully+ regular exercise . 3 months high cholesterol surely will drop

Its all about diet and exercise.

My mum was on cholesterol meds for abt 1 year but she stopped taking them as instructed by her doctor because my mum managed to lower her cholesterol levels with a healthier diet and exercise. She is not on any cholesterol meds since then.

Well try skipping one meal (intermittent fasting) first try to eat your dinner before 6pm and half the portion only. In the beginning you will feel hungry but get use to in it a week and try for 3 months an and see. The next meal shall be early lunch or brunch at 10am onwards that give you a 16 hours fasting period It works for me at least lower 10%

Your cholesterol levels indicate that your total cholesterol and LDL (bad cholesterol) are quite high, while your HDL (good cholesterol) and triglycerides are within a healthier range. A TC/HDL ratio of 4.95 is also higher than the ideal ratio of less than 4.0, which suggests an increased risk of heart disease
