Total - 263
HDL - 71
LDL - 176
TC HDL Ratio - 3.7
Triglycerides - 81

Taking Rosuvastatin 10mg

Start doing watever form of exercise suitable for your age such that you can lose weight.

Reduce your meals to 2 a day.

Stop eating anything fried, e.g. chicken, any form of potato chips....
My reading is better than yours yet I am taking 20mg.

Total - 227mg/dl
HDL - 87mg/dl
LDL - 133mg/dl
Ratio - 2.6
Triglycerides - 30mg/dl

I am on low carb diet, practice IF, eat 2 meals a day. Reduced fried food and fatty meat, hardly eat chips, only nuts. Occasionally will eat overnight oats. Also exercise everyday, sometimes even twice a day. Will have cheat meals sometimes like desserts, breads, oat or plain crackers.

No other issues like HBP or high sugar.

Think my body just refuse to produce good cholesterol no matter what I eat or do.

3. Look into Liver supplement intake e.g. Milk Thistle, Dandelion, Tumeric
4. Walk more; Climb more stairs and exercise (jogging, swimming, cycling, badminton)
5. Stop intake of unhealthy processed snacks like crackers, biscuits, bread, pizza, instant noodles.

Tis nothing to do with cholesterol
Intermittent fasting promote weight lost and thus reduce not just fats but cholesterol it also help insulin resistance and sensitivity.
A Haward study on this confirm the finding but need more extensive studies to determine if it has any bad side effects in the long term
it’s been proven eating less is the best sure way not just to promote health with less inflammation but also extend life…

Try 150mins of exercise per week… intensity of 70% of your Heart Rate… but start slow until you can reach this level. HDL should improve. You need to be consistent.

Actually, most of us already knew what should be done but when you tell a person who rarely exercises and always eat those good food, its like asking them to do the impossible.

Last time?
meaning last time i went for check up.
I believe the total cholesterol was based on LDL+HDL.

I was also borderline high cholesterol so the doc was suggesting me to take medication but i rejected.
Went back 1 year later, the LDL dropped abit but HDL went up....so the "total cholesterol" also got same same

But yeah, i was working out 5-6 days a week for about 1hr in Zone 4

Just did a health check and cholesterol numbers are:
- Total Cholesterol: 252 mg/dL
- HDL Cholesterol: 51 mg/dL
- LDL Cholesterol: 182 mg/dL
- TC/HDL Ratio: 4.95
- Triglycerides: 95 mg/dL

Need to start taking meds? Any other advice?
Cut sugar and salt, no more junk food / ultra processed food. Exercise more.

If lazy or lacks discipline, then don’t need to ask also.
