Got try eat oats. Not much help.
how much of soluble fibre did you eat per day?

I managed to lower my LDL from 172mg/L to 75mg/L in just under 6 months by sticking to a very low saturated fat diet (strictly max 10g per day) and super boost my soluble fibre intake by using psyllium husk powder supplement and 3 servings of fruits per day.

I am currently easing back on the diet to something more sustainable... i still want to enjoy food occasionally :D
will check again in 6 months to find a middle ground.

TS pls don't leave it un-check.
My Cholesterol level has been borderline high for the past 8-10 years.

I have regularly exercise (at least once a week), regularly monitor my condition and I believe I should be fine.

Last year, my blood pressure suddenly shoot up to 160/100. Decided to go for more details check. The finding, two of my heart blood vessels were 100% blocked.
once a week actually is not really regularly..

I have high cholestrol.. i exericse daily.. some times i do double exericse (swim morning, run evening etc). i do weight training, running and swimming,.

i watch my diet but i still got high cholestrol. haha.. but then i might have not been taking enough fiber so for the past few months i have been increasing my fiber intake..

My LDL is also high, contributing to my high total cholesterol. Next week onwards, I will be substituting white rice with rolled oats for my dinner. See how it goes.
Exercise doesn't seem help to lower LDL as my total running distance this year is 1150km. BMI is 23 so I'm not overweight as well.

Chronic inflammation is the primary contributor of reduced good cholesterol and elevated bad cholesterol levels. The body produces cholesterol as a protective response to ongoing inflammation.

The TG/HDL-C ratio serves as a more reliable indicator.

LDL must be fix by diet change
Exercise can only increase HDL and reduce triglyceride

Yeh it seems. Starting with replacing white rice with rolled oats for dinner. Already using EVOO
Don't eat carb at all for dinner. Do you really need carb for dinner?
Just meat+vegetable is enough.

I feel for office worker, 1 time carb for lumch actually more than enough.

Just did a health check and cholesterol numbers are:
- Total Cholesterol: 252 mg/dL
- HDL Cholesterol: 51 mg/dL
- LDL Cholesterol: 182 mg/dL
- TC/HDL Ratio: 4.95
- Triglycerides: 95 mg/dL

Need to start taking meds? Any other advice?
If you trust me, try this leaf call 南非叶, just cut into small pieces one shot put inside your mouth and drink with water. One week twice will do. For one month you go check up again. You will thanks me later.
If you don't trust me, you may go Google 南非叶 first.

My bmi has always maintained 21.5+- but my ldl was peak at 191 before. By just taking soluble fiber for 6 months helps to bring my ldl down to within spec.

What's wrong with high cholesterol?

If everyone Wish to have lower cholesterol, just increase your omega 6 (linoleic acid).
It's most commonly found in seed/veg oil. In fact, it's practically in most ultra processed food.

It's clinically proven. With detailed studies.
Ancel Keys equation.

However, it increases all causes mortality and cardiovascular heart diseases.

that you have to read the nutritional info in everything you eat... hidden sat fat are in the condiments.. and if you eat out, there is almost no way of gauging.. so try to stick to home cooked as much as possible

I used to love instant noodle, until I found out the noodle cake actually contains very high amount of saturated fat. i also cut out my fav butter and cheese for my breakfast toast
